Rocket Arena Is Gone From All Stores
On November 14, EA removed Rocket Arena not only from its subscription service EA Play, but also from all storefronts. People are no longer able to purchase the game through the EA Store or Steam. Although that doesn't mean that the servers have shut down as well. Players who bought the game ahead of this are still able to play online.
Why Was It Removed?
Although we have not yet received an official statement by EA, it seems that this game didn't turn out to be a success in the first place. Even after its release in 2020, Rocket Arena never became extremely popular, but always kept a core audience.
They tried to push it by releasing bigger updates with battle passes, new content and events, but that also didn't really make the deal. Being in the gaming industry, we see this happen to game releases all the time, and also want to mention that this can have a lot of reasons.
Just because Rocket Arena wasn't a great success, that doesn't mean it's not a good game. Perhaps, it was just released at the wrong time, where the industry was focused on other genres, themes, and so on.
So, when a game just doesn't reach the planned revenue streams after a while, the publishers, or developers are forced to take it down and put their focus on something else instead, which they do. Rocket Arena's creators Final Strike are already working on a brand-new Game, that isn't announced yet. But perhaps the removal of Rocket Arena is the first indication that we can forget the past and discover something new soon.
We will keep our eyes out for news and as always, you will find them here on EarlyGame.
