FromSoftware producer Yasuhiro Kitao made a clear statement about the eagerly awaited Elden Ring DLC that is called Shadow of the Erdree. While he did not mention a specific release date, the wait for the new content could be longer than expected.
We are all waiting for the first Elden Ring DLC Shadow of Erdtree. While leaks claim that we could see an early release in 2024 a new statement from producer Yasuhiro Kitao gave a hint that these rumors could be wrong.
Why The Elden Ring DLC Could Be Coming In March Or April 2024
Dark Souls, Sekiro, and Bloodborne veteran Yasuhiro Kitao was recently asked when we can expect to see the Elden Ring DLC. His answer is a bit disappointing, as he made clear that "it is still some way off." At least he also mentioned that they are "making good progress."
He furthermore confirmed that we'll be seeing "new battles and new characters."
Yasuhiro Kitao said Elden Ring's DLC Shadow of the Erdtree will not release anytime soon "It is still some way off, but we are making good progress. Like "Bloodborne" and other games, there will be new battles and new characters."Translated with DeepL:https://t.co/8aj6sNaOEN pic.twitter.com/9tDcjn6DT9

What we also know is that FromSoftware owner and parent company Kadokawa stated in an earnings call that the DLC could be released before March 2024, which could mean that the originally planned release window was February. Kitao's statement makes us think that the release might take a little longer, until March or April 2024.
Let's hope for the best. An early release would not help anyone, they should take their time and release a polished, nail-biting add-on instead of something unfinished.
