We hear new rumors about GTA 6 being announced every week, but this time the rumors are coming from a far, far more reliable source than usual. These claims aren't being made by some random Twitter user with an anime profile picture, this is coming directly from Jason Schreier, one of the most well-respected games journalists in the entire industry.
Jason Scheier is a game's journalist who works for Bloomberg. He's one of (if not the) most trusted sources in the industry, and his leaks and predictions have turned out to be true on numerous occasions in the past. To take a recent example from a game coming out this week, he gave us the first comprehensive reporting on how MW3 was originally planned as DLC for MW2.
That was a long-winded way of saying: If Jason Schreier claims something will happen, there's a very good chance it will. Which is why we're delighted to let you know, he's the one making the recent claims about a GTA 6 reveal.
Bloomberg's Jason Schreier Claims GTA 6 Will Be Revealed This Week
According to Schreier, Grand Theft Auto 6 is about to be revealed, and a full trailer is going to follow in December:
Rockstar Games plans to announce the next highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto game as early as this week, according to people familiar with its plans. The company plans to then publish a trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI next month to celebrate Rockstar’s 25th anniversary.
Needless to say, the entire Rockstar community has been sent into an absolute frenzy.
It should be noted that even Xbox think the game is releasing in 2024, so a reveal around this time isn't surprising. We think a 2025 release is more likely, but either way, a reveal in late 2023 makes sense.
Schreier didn't mention the form this announcement would take, and he didn't provide any further details on the trailer expected in December, but if this turns out to be true we'll find out for ourselves soon enough. There was a 4chan leak from a month ago that claimed the trailer would basically be a montage of Miami life, complete with palm trees and beautiful beaches, but we are infinitely less confident in that source.
What do you think about the recent rumors? Do you expect GTA 6 will indeed be revealed this week? I'll need to see it to believe it, but this is the most confident I've been in any of the recent GTA 6 leaks.
