The Canadian mid laner Joseph Joon “jojopyun” Pyun has been a star player of the LCS in the last few splits. Now rumors are spreading that an LCK team was interested in him for next season.
Jojopyun has performed really well in the last few splits on Evil Geniuses. Now that EG is making an exit from the LCS, jojopyun is looking for a new home. Although, according to Sheep Esports, he has already reached a verbal agreement with the American team Cloud 9 on November 3. Even though multiple LCS teams have offered a contract to jojopyun he has sided with C9 as they usually make it quite far in the LCS Season and pay a good salary.
But one team almost made him break the verbal agreement. Apparently, the Korean LCK team Liiv SANDBOX offered jojopyun a place in the team. They put forward a substantial bid in an attempt to sign the player over Cloud9. It became a serious battle between the organizations, but Cloud9 increased their initial offer and managed to secure the 19-year-old mid laner.
While jojopyun wouldn't be the first player to go from playing in the LCS to playing in the LCK, he is the first player native to North America that would have started in the league. Certainly an interesting idea that he would get to lane against players like 4x World Champion Faker in a regular season.
Notably, Liiv SANDBOX is making an effort to search talents from outside Korea as they have also acquired Lee “JeongHoon” Jeong-hoon who was the support player for LEC team Astralis.
Do you think the NA-Player would have what it takes to play in the LCK?
