Master Chief Actor Criticizes Sex Scene in Halo TV Show, Claims His Concerns Were Ignored

The Halo TV show has veered off from the story of the games quite a bit. Now, Pablo Schreiber, who plays the chief, is speaking out against a certain romance plot. He claims he had concerns at the time of filming, but apparently the producers didn't listen to him.

The Halo TV show had some pretty questionable moments in it. And as it turns out, certain members of the cast recognized that at the time of shooting. They tried to raise their concerns about what had been written into the script, but unfortunately they were ignored.

One of the most talked about and controversial scenes and changes? Master Chief losing his virginity in the series. Who had that on their 2022 bingo cards? Not me.

"A Huge Mistake" Master Chief Actor Was Unhappy With Love Scene

One of the most divisive moments of the already iffy Halo television series was when Master Chief, played by Pablo Schreiber, had sex with human-turned-Covenant agent Makee, played by Charlie Murphy.

In a recent interview with SFX magazine (through Games Radar), Schreiber described his issues with the script and how he tried to get the producers to change some of the things in it.

The decision to make the connection between Makee and John a romantic connection was a huge mistake. I felt it was a huge mistake at the time and I argued against it and fought against it. But I am who I am. I don’t write the scripts. I only give my opinion. It wasn’t listened to.

Unfortunately, no one listened to him, and he ended up having to film the much talked about sex scene and give Master Chief some form of a love interest, which... let's be real didn't sit well with a huge chunk of the Halo community.

This whole situation honestly just gives me flashbacks to the whole Witcher and Netflix situation and how Henry Cavill tried to steer things into the right direction to keep it canon and true to the books and games. Sadly, higher ups get what they want and actors, especially those passionate about the project, will just have to suck it up.
