Marvel’s Wolverine was announced in 2021 and will by Insomniac’s next superhero-focused game after their very successful Spider-Man series. Unfortunately, it looks like we will have to wait until 2025 to actually get our hands on the game.

Insomniac's Wolverine Game Apparently Slated For 2025

This was claimed by renowned leaker Daniel Richtman on his Patreon. According to Richtman, who has been a reliable source for all kinds of leaks in the worlds of gaming and film/TV, Wolverine won’t be released in 2024 and will instead take a little longer.

While that’s obviously a shame, the game is at least shaping up to be really awesome. Insomniac proved with Spider-Man that they know what they are doing with superhero franchises and the “darker, more violent” tone that Richtman describes for the Wolverine game sounds absolutely perfect.

Another interesting reveal in this new leak relates to the game’s location. Apparently, it will be set in Madripoor, a city of outlaws and criminals located in Marvel’s version of Southeast Asia.

Madripoor will be familiar to fans of X-Men comics, as it was first introduced in Marvel Comics in New Mutants #32 in 1985 and has been often featured in that universe since. In that comic, it is described as a “modern day Tortuga”, a haven for outlaws of all sorts. Sounds like the perfect setting for a Wolverine action game!Neither Sony nor Insomniac have confirmed a release date for Wolverine so far, no have we gotten any real official info on the game yet. Outside that cool reveal teaser trailer, of course.
