Stardew Valley Update 1.6: New Message From The Developer
Now, ConcernedApe remains very mysterious regarding the new update. Yet, a new post on X has revealed that there seems to be intense work underway, with all efforts focused on making the update available to us soon.
And a little detail was spilled: there will be a new chest, twice the size of the current one. Accordingly, it will be able to store almost twice as much. Since I have many of these storage chests on my farm and quickly get confused about which items are in which chest, this is a very useful innovation!
A ton of progress on 1.6 last month, it's (self-imposed) extreme crunch mode, nose to the grindstone (raw nose) mode. Heres' one of the many additions in 1.6. Keeping mostly everything secret pic.twitter.com/cFT3Nks8z0

They're keeping the other additions under wraps, so it's going to be a surprise party for us.
When a fan asked what motivates the developer to continue working on Stardew, even though the game has been around for so many years and has already far exceeded expectations, he responds with the following:
many things, including that so many people are still playing it, and many new poeple every day, I want it to be the best it can be, It will never be perfect but I feel an urge to keep improving it. Up to this point its been my life's work and I care a lot about it
This guy certainly knows how to score sympathy points and melt hearts!
Now, we hope for more information soon and look forward to the update!
