Netflix's darling Millie Bobby Brown strikes again: Damsel is set to release soon, and we've got all the info you need, including the release date, further cast and plot.
It's been nearly three years since Damsel was announced and finally, it's time for the dark fantasy to see the light of day.
After making her producer debut with the Enola Holmes franchise, Damsel is next on the list of Millie Bobby Brown's long list of endeavours.
Netflix's Damsel | Release Date & Trailer
After some delays due to the Hollywood strikes, Damsel finally releases on March 8 on Netflix.
Originally, the movie was supposed to come out on Friday the 13th (October 13, 2023, to be exact) – didn't work out. Talk about bad luck, right? Fun fact: lots of movies were set to release that day and Taylor Swift of all people kinda ruined it for them. Girlboss energy!
The Cast Of Netflix's Damsel
It's not only Millie Bobby Brown to look forward to in Damsel, but she does lead as Princess Elodie, the "damsel" in question. Nick Robinson joins her as Prince Henry – the gentleman that freaking yeets her into the abyss in the trailer (what the hell) – and Angela Bassett plays Lady Bayford, Elodie's stepmother.
Joining the cast are also Ray Winstone and Robin Wright as King and Queen. You can also look forward to Ricky Guillart and Brooke Carter.
Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is the director – you might remember him from 28 Weeks Later or Intruders, but it's been quite a while since he directed a movie. The script is from Dan Mazeau who also worked on Fast & Furious 10. Quite the change in direction, I'd say!
Damsel's Plot
So, we've got dragons, we've got the medieval setting, and we've got Millie Bobby Brown in trouble – what else could you possibly want? The logline? Alright, here you go:
A dutiful damsel agrees to marry a handsome prince, only to find the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. Thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon, she must rely on her wits and will to survive.
And let's be real here: This premise sounds promising, and Enola Holmes was pretty good, so chances are we have a movie to look forward to on our hands here. Make sure to check it out on March 8!
