The newest mode “Arena” in League of Legends, seems to be one of the community's favorites, since it is quick, easy to understand and, as a cherry on top, it has a separate ranking system. Especially the new usage of the augment system, which we already know from TFT, does add a little spice to the mix and gives the mode so much more replay value.
To be quite honest, if there is just one thing, a League of Legends player can actually learn from a TFT-main, it is that: If there are Augments, there is for sure a way to abuse them in an unintended way!
To be perfectly fair, it does seem to be a mammoth task, to take all existing 162 champions into consideration, when creating a whole new set of Augments for an already new mode.
Let's take a look at what the fuss is all about!
Arena Bug Lets You Deal “Infinite” Attack Damage
Augments In Arena
Augments in Arena work just as they do in TFT and you can choose four of them over the course of an entire round. There are three tiers which Augments can appear in: Silver, Gold, Prismatic.
These small but powerful additions to the game allow for many new strategies and fun team comps. Champions that are rarely seen on the Summoners Rift map are celebrated as absolute OP in the Arena. The best example of this is Taric, who is definitely pick or ban in this mode.
With over 100 Augments added, it is practically impossible to have checked all interactions in advance, which can lead to super crazy bugs for players to find.
Broken Augment Interaction
One of these bugs has recently come to the attention of a few players, who found out about a problem with two specific Augments, which basically give you unlimited power:
- Warmup Routine (Silver)→ Gain the Warmup Routine Summoner Spell. Warmup Routine allows you to channel to increase your damage for the rest of the round.
- Master of Duality (Prismatic)→ Your Attacks grant you stacking Ability Power and your Abilities grant you Attack Damage.
If you manage to get both of these Augments, the bug is pretty easy to replicate.
The usage of “Warmup Routine” does not have Cooldown, to make sure you can use the spell again, after getting interrupted. However, using that newly added Summoner Spell does count as an ability, which stacks the second Augments of this method.
Since you can interrupt yourself while channeling “Warmup Routine”, you can spam this ability over and over again, stacking your “Master of Duality” into infinity, which grants you a massive amount of attack damage!
Sounds not too bad, right?
However, before you invite your arena buddy to experience this infinite power as well, it is important to remind yourselves that this interaction is still a bug. And as we all know, bug abuse in LoL is a reason to get you a 14-day vacation from the Rift in no time!
Since Arena is pretty popular at the moment, Riot will probably catch up on this interaction pretty quickly and will remove it completely or add Cooldown to “Warmup Routine” to stop the ability-spamming.
