LoL Blue Essence Emporium 2023 Is A Massive Letdown

LoL's Blue Essence Emporium started on September 6, 2023 and it didn't even take Riot 24 hours to prove that this event is a massive letdown for players.

Are we still expecting to get something that's not bugged, or what we were promised by Riot in 2023? Or am I just getting my hopes up too high?

No, but seriously, why is it that Riot has promised us big changes for the Blue Essence Emporium, only for us to find a massive letdown when we opened League of Legends. If you don't know what I'm talking about, let me catch you up real quick.

LoL: Why The Blue Essence Emporium Is Such A Letdown

People have complained in the past about the fact that we not only got one Blue Essence Emporium last year, but also this year.

And instead of Riot giving us a massive Emporium with summer and winter chromas, instead we're just getting another summer emporium. Why? No one knows, except Riot. If you've been hoping to snag a chroma for a skin that belongs to the winter emporium assortment, then you're going to have to wait yet another year, sorry.

But wait, there's more! What would a LoL update be without a couple of bugs, huh?

As Matty Love Gaming pointed out in a recent video, not only have plenty of players complained about the many bugs they've already experienced within the first 24 hours of the Emporium, including myself, but also about the many items that are just gone from the Emporium, even though they were still on the official list for the Blue Essence Emporium.

If you hadn't already noticed it yourself, here are the "few" things that were missing the first 24 hours of the Emporium:

  • Mystery Icon chests
  • Mystery Ward skins
  • The Baron Hat Poro Icon
  • Discounts on rune pages or name changes
  • Mythic Essence isn't available for purchase
  • Icon bundles

Additionally, there were some chromas missing that should be a part of the current Emporium as they came out last year between July and December, such as King Viego and Zenith Games. For some reason, while some chromas were missing, others are randomly a part of the Emporium, even though they should technically be part of the winter Emporium, like Battle Bunny Riven.

As of now, it seems Riot has actually fixed some of the issues that had disappointed players beforehand. Riot has now added the Baron Hat Poro Icon back into the Emporium, as well as chromas that were previously missing and the mystery icon chests.

Not only that, but Riot has now finally updated the official list of products for the Blue Essence Emporium, just over a day after the Emporium actually started. I mean, who would think to update these things before the event goes live, that would be crazy.

If that wasn't enough, Riot seems to have left out an important feature for the Emporium to make it a more enjoyable experience for players to use.

Should you have already checked the Emporium, you might have noticed that there is no option available to help you filter for chromas of skins that you actually own. Instead, you currently have to scroll through all the available chromas and look through all of them to find some that you can purchase for yourself, which can be pretty tedious, especially if you don't have many skins.

If you want to know how you can actually filter the Emporium, here's a quick guide to filter the chromas.

But hey, at least LoL isn't the only game with a ton of bugs:
