The last time we saw Elias "Upset" Lipp on the pro stage was at the 2022 League of Legends World Championship, when he was still donning the black and Orange of Fnatic. Unfortunately, he did not find a team to start off 2023, but that could change going into the LEC Spring Split.
German League of Legends fans watch out, because Elias "Upset" Lipp is likely to be making a comeback in the LEC. According to rumours he could be joining the French org, Team Vitality and would kick off the Spring split alongside Perkz and Co.
Last year he was one of the most well-known bot laners in the LEC, playing for Fnatic and carrying them through the playoffs to a third place finish in the Summer, but in 2023 he had to start on the sidelines, unable to find a team, but with the news of him being in-talks with Vitality, some fans are willing to get excited.

The last year and a half have been a constant up and down for Upset and Fnatic. He single-handedly carried Fnatic to the League of Legends World Championship play-in stage in Mexico and also helped secure a spot at the main event for Fnatic in New York.
Unfortunately, Fnatic's Worlds journey ended sooner than some might have expected with T1, the favorites going into the tournament, and EDG, the 2021 World Champions, making it out of a stacked Group A. Not only was this the end of Fnatic at Worlds, but also the final time fans saw Upset donning the black and Orange.
It hasn't been long since Fnatic revealed the return of their "lost son". None other than Fnatic legend Martin "Rekkles" Larsson returned to the squad for the 2023 season as the main ADC.
After the announcement was made, it was far too late for Upset to find another team in the LEC, with most contracts already having been revealed, which left him on the wayside and without a professional team to kick off 2023.

On February 28, 2023, esports insider Brieuc "LEC Wooloo" Seeger announced that Upset might have found a new home in the LEC for the next split. It seems that Upset could be joining Perkz, Bo and Kaiser on Team Vitality who showed a great performance during the regular split, missing the playoffs by less than an inch.
Was Upset the missing puzzle piece for Vitality all along? Well, he seems to be pretty excited judging by his reaction on Twitter:

If this deal does go through, it will mean that Upset is going to replace Matúš "Neon" Jakubčík and will be playing alongside his fellow German Norman "Kaiser" Kaiser in the bot lane.
Upset making a comeback in the LEC is great to see, with him being one of the most talented bot laners to come out of the region in the last few years.
