Riot has recently changed its mythic content and its mythic currency. But how can you get your hands on some free Mythic Essence, so you can get this new content?
With the new mythic shop setup in League of Legends Patch 12.6, we've decided it's time to check out how to earn Mythic Essence and if there are some ways to get it for free, even, which spiler alert, yes there is so keep reading.
Everyone loved the Ashen Knight Pyke skin, and players will want to get their hands on the Ashen Knight Pantheon skin as well, so listen up, read on, and you'll be the proud owner of every new mythic skin Riot has to offer in no time!
Can You Get Mythic Essence For Free?
Yes, there are some ways to earn Mythic Essence without spending a single penny. It might not be as much as when you 'borrow' your mom's credit card, but if you save up, you could eventually pick up a mythic skin of your choice.
How To Get Mythic Essence For Free
Riot has given out free Mythic Essence a few times already. First, players got free ME by completing a one-time mission in celebration of the opening of the new Mythic Shop. This summer you'll be able to earn 30 Mythic Essence for free though.
Each year, Riot implements the Essence Emporium into the League of Legends client. The Essence Emporium from June 28 to July 12, 2022 will be the last one for a while as the Riot team will be looking to make it more efficient, as well as improve upon the system.
Since they'll be pausing the Essence Emporium, Riot is going to add three one-time missions into the client, which will let players gain 10 Mythic Essence each-time. Easy 30 Mythic Essence secured, right?
What Can You Buy With 30 Mythic Essence?
Now, 30 Mythic Essence won't seem like a lot – it equates to 1 Gemstone – but if you're not one to save, and you want to spend it right away, there are a few things you can spend your free 30 ME on if you want.
- Ashen Knight Pantheon Emote (25 ME)
- Random Skin Shard (10 ME)
- 50 Orange Essence (1 ME)
- 150 Blue Essence (1 ME)
Do we suggest buying any of these? Not at all. Especially the Orange Essence, Random Skin Shard or Blue Essence are a waste of you ME, so it's better to save it.
Mythic Essence Through Loot
You can also get free Mythic Essence through loot, just how you were able to get gemstones through chests and orbs as well. So if you've got a few masterwork chests or event orbs lying around, you could be lucky enough to get some ME... but if we're honest, how often did you get a gemstone in your loot?
These are the loot items which could contain Mythic Essence:
- Hextech Chest
- Masterwork Chest
- Orbs from Missions
Get Mythic Essence With Event Pass
You're also able to earn some Mythic Essence by paying for the event pass, just how you were able to earn prestige points with the event pass before. By completing the missions of the event pass, you'll be able to earn the mythic currency, as well as event tokens.
You can still pick up the event prestige with the event tokens, while you use mythic essence in the new mythic shop. Old Hextech skins and the new mythic skins like Ashen Knight Pantheon cost 100 ME, while other prestige skins will be a bit more expensive.
What is Mythic Essence?
Mythic Essence is the new mythic currency in League of Legends. Gone are the days of saving up both gemstones and prestige points. The good thing about mythic essence? It doesn't expire, so you won't have to hurry to buy some prestige skin like you did before.
With the introduction of Mythic Essence, Riot Games also revamped the whole mythic shop in League of Legends to try and revitalize the system. Hextech skins weren't popular, so Riot decided to create rotating mythic skin themes, and the Ashen Knight Pyke skin has hit the mark, becoming quite popular right away.
With Mythic Essence, you can go into the mythic shop, get skins, shards, blue essence, orange essence and much more. Or you save it up and pick up a prestige skin at some point as well.
