How to Get Waterloo Miss Fortune?
To get this fancy skin for everyone's favorite captain, you'll need to create a new account. In addition to the level rewards, there is also a special reward for the first seven games that count as first-game-of-the-day. As the seventh and final reward, you can choose between 500 Orange Essence or a Waterloo Miss Fortune skin shard.
Of course, you can take the Orange Essence if you want to invest into other skins in the future, but we do suggest picking out the Waterloo Miss Fortune for you skin collection.
How to Get Grey Warwick and Medieval Twitch?
Medieval Twitch and Grey Warwick are two skins you'll be able to get by reaching Honor Level 5 in League of Legends. When you're a fair, friendly player, your teammates will be able to give you honors at the end of the game. As you accumulate honors, you also gain honor levels and ranks.
By earning the final level you get a Honor Level 5 Token, which you can redeem for either the Medieval Twitch skin or the Grey Warwick skin. If you already own the skins you'll also be able to get chromas for the skins. We might get an exclusive skin for those who reach this honor level as well.
How to Get the 'Season Reward Skins?
At the end of each season, you will automatically receive the new Victorious skin if you have achieved Gold or a higher rank in Ranked mode. Unfortunately, you can no longer get the Season Reward skins from previous years, so stay tuned.
How to Get Triumphant Ryze?
Here's where it gets tricky. You can only get the Triumphant Ryze skin if you win a tournament. It doesn't necessarily have to be one of the professional tournaments. You can check Battlefy, game.tv, or Toornament to see if there are any events you can participate in. Still, we like to think that Triumphant Ryze is worth the hassle – he looks baller.
What is Hextech Crafting?
Hextech crafting is another way you're able to get free skins in League of Legends. You're able to use this to get free skins by opening Hextech chests. Getting those is pretty easy. You can get hextech chests for free through these methods:
- Honor Level Rewards
- Earning an S on a Champion
- Through Loot
By opening Hextech Chests you could receive skin shards, which you can either disenchant into Orange Essence, use the saved up Orange Essence to turn a skin shard into a permanent skin.
How to Use Orange Essence to Craft Skins
As mentioned, you'll also be able to receive Orange essence whenever you disenchant a skin you don't want or need. By opening Hextech Chests you're able to receive skins, but some might not be to your liking or for a champion you play, so you can either keep the skin shards, or dissenchant them into Orange Essence.
Once you've received a skin shard of a skin you do want, you'll be able to make it a free permanent skin by using some of that saved up Orange Essence. You click on the skin shard, and then choose 'Upgrade to Permanent' to use your Orange Essence to get the skin permanently without spending a single penny.
What is Skin Re-Rolling?
If you have multiple skin shards saved up, then you can re-roll those into permanent random skins. Think of this like a Gacha Game, where you won't know what you're going to get. You'll go onto the Loot category in your client, click on a skin shard and then 'Re-Roll into Random Skin Permanent'. This way you will get a random skin and you won't even have to use Orange Essence.
How to Get Exclusive Loot Skins?
Since 2022 Riot has also added a new mythic shop into the League of Legends client. Instead of having various mythic currencies, Riot has created Mythic Essence, with which players can buy Hextech skins. These skins usually cost 100 Mythic Essence and are on a rotation basis in the Mythic shop.
You'll have to scour the shop every few months to see whether a mythic skin you want is currently available. You earn Mythic Essence through chests, having a slim chance to receive some, but Riot has also given out some free Mythic Essence before.
Can You Still Get Riot Girl Tristana and Unchained Alistar for Free?
Unfortunately, Riot stopped the promotions for these skins. Until recently, you could still get them via a support ticket, but Riot has since removed that as well. As I said, the success seems to have gone to their heads. They don't really need promo anymore...
