Kindred finally appeared for the first time ever in a cinematic for League of Legends. For the start of Season 14, we got a glimpse of what Kindred are: some entity ready to take the lives of those who are willing to do so (or not). But what else do Kindred bring to the table? I'm here to tell you everything you need to know about the lore of the Eternal Hunters.

Who Is Kindred To Their Lore?
Meet Kindred – the twin essences embodying death in the League of Legends universe. Picture them like the ultimate dynamic duo: Lamb's got her bow, and if you're fine with accepting your fate, she'll give you a quick way out from the mortal realm. But if you're the running type, Wolf's on your tail, making sure your exit is a bit more on the wild and violent side, hunting you down if you refuse your fate.
Kindred: Never One Without The Other
Now, everyone in Runeterra sees Kindred a bit differently. They're like the yin and yang of death – serene yet gnashing, shepherds yet butchers, poets and primitives all rolled into one. When your heart's thumping on the edge of life, that's Kindred getting ready for their hunt. You can either let Lamb's silvered arrows do the job swiftly, or if you're feeling rebellious, Wolf will join the party for a relentless chase that ends with a bang.
Throughout Valoran's history, Kindred's been there, doing their hunts to send people to the beyond. In Demacia, real Demacians turn to Lamb, embracing the arrow. Noxus? Wolf's leading the hunt through those shady streets. And after the Harrowing, Bilgewater throws a bash to celebrate surviving and paying respects to those who got a real death by Lamb and Wolf.
Freljord war bands even give a pre-battle smooch to the Wolf, promising to spill enemy blood in his honor. In the cinematic "Still Here" for the beginning of Season 14, we also saw Tryndamere fighting Kindred. While it is said that nobody can escape Kindred, it seems like Tryndamere managed to do so with the support of his wife and warmother Ashe. Therefore, he is the only soul, escaping from them. At least for now.
But here's the deal – denying Kindred is like saying no to the natural order of things. Only a handful of folks have managed to dodge these death-dealers, but trust me, there's no happy ending there. Kindred's patiently waiting for those stuck in the undead mess of the Shadow Isles, 'cause, you know, Lamb's arrow and Wolf's teeth – one of them's bound to catch up.
Kindred's First Appearance
But when did Kindred pop up the first time in history? Ancient masks on long-forgotten graves, carved by an unknown soul, marked the initial introduction of the Eternal Hunters. Much like death itself, Lamb and Wolf linger, guiding souls to the afterlife, whether they're prepared for it or not. Together, they persist as Kindred, twin faces of Death, always together, never apart.
