Caitlyn ASU to be Released in LoL Patch 11.23

In the September roadmap, Riot revealed that they’ve been working on an Art and Sustainability update for a champion they couldn’t name – but we all knew it was Caitlyn thanks to a leak from TFT.

So, now we got the first glimpses of the ASU and boy, are we excited to see Caitlyn get a glow up – except for our social media manager who hates her hat. The ASU is a purely visual update, the last one Riot had done was back in 2015 for Alistar.

The Caitlyn visual changes have gone live on PBE. Her older skins also got visual updates, so make sure you check if one of your skins also got an improved visual. We do believe the ASU is going to hit live servers in LoL Patch 11.23.

Dragon Updates in LoL Patch 11.23

In celebration of Arcane and to diversify the map, two new dragons will be added ahead of the 2022 season. These dragons refer to the Hextech Dragon and the Chemtech Dragon. They will change the map in ways you didn’t even think was possible!

Here is a short explanation of how the new dragons will work:

Dragon

Standard Buff

Dragon SoulDragon Terrain
Hextech DragonGrants attack speed and ability haste to the team that delivers the killing blow (5 Ability Haste and 5% Attack Speed per stack)When a team obtains the Hextech Dragon Soul, they gain a unique ability that adds a chain lightning slow to their basic attacks and abilities, with a moderate cooldownWhen the terrain transforms for the Hextech Drake, pairs of Hex-gates appear across the map which allow champions to quickly travel from one location to the paired counterpart. Hex-gates are activated with a brief channel (that can be interrupted by stuns or damage) before rapidly transporting a player across the map to the corresponding Hex-gate.
Chemtech DragonGrants bonus damage against enemies with more current health than you (up to a 5% increase in damage per stack)When a team obtains the Chemtech Dragon Soul, they receive a buff that grants them a brief second life after they dieWhen the terrain transforms for the Chemtech Drake, gas zones emerge in four jungle locations. Gas zones camouflage any champion within the zone. Camouflaged enemies are not revealed by regular vision wards, but are revealed by Control Wards, Scryer’s Blooms, and other things that reveal invisible units.

New Items in LoL Patch 11.23

Six new items will hit the rift in LoL Patch 11.23. These have been in testing for about two weeks already on the PBE patch, but they will be released in Patch 11.23, so the greater League community can test these out.

These are the new items coming to League for Season 12:

  • Shadowflame
  • Axiom Arc
  • Fimbulwinter
  • Winters Approach
  • Evenshroud
  • Crown of the Shattered Queen

For a full rundown on these brand-new items, make sure to check out our pre-season roundup! We go over the abilities of the items in greater detail, so you’re informed of everything in Season 12!

New Bounty System in LoL Patch 11.23

If those weren’t enough changes, Riot has also decided to implement a new bounty system to get teams who have fallen behind back into the game. So now, instead of just having bounties on players, there are also objective bounties.

These can range from towers all the way to epic monsters. In the pre-season article, Riot explained the objective bounty like this:

Objective Bounties activate only when a team is sufficiently behind and are highlighted on the minimap for both teams. If a losing team takes an objective with an active bounty, every member of the team receives the objective bounty gold, split amongst the team.

These are the bounties you can obtain when behind:

  • Baron/Elder Dragon - 500g
  • Dragon/Rift Herald - 500g
  • Outer Turret - 250g
  • Inner Turret - 400g
  • Base turret - 400g

Which Champions are Getting Cafe Cutie Skins?

As mentioned, six champions will get Cafe Cutie skins:

  • Gwen
  • Bard
  • Vladimir
  • Annie
  • Soraka
  • Sivir
