Riot recently released a statement, explaining why they are removing mythic items from League of Legends.
League of Legends has no shortage of issues, and now Riot addressed one of those, by trying to make the game more accessible for newer players. How? By completely removing mythic items from the game.
The Reason Riot Is Removing Mythic Items From League of Legends
In a recent statement on the official League of Legends Twitter account, gameplay designer, Phroxzon explained why they made the decision to completely remove Mythic items from the game. It's actually quite simple, they want to reduce the complexity of the game.

They plan to simplify items overall, adding more focus on the “individual champions' kits and their differences”.
This change is a step back to the roots for League of Legends, as mythic items were first introduced back in 2020 with season 11.
Looks like the idea to define people's play style through items backfired, so they plan to focus on the cornerstone of League of Legends again, the diverse cast of champions!
