The next big event in League of Legends is going to feature a brand-new skin line all about fighting. Now, what else is a game all about fighting? The upcoming Riot fighting game, Project L, of course.

With the teaser for the Soul Fighter event getting released on June 26, 2023 some fans could be in for a treat and see just what Project L has in store for them, with the event taking place across multiple Riot IPs, such as Wild Rift, LoR, LoL and TFT – sorry VALORANT, you're not invited...

LoL Soul Fighter Event: New Metagame Turns LoL Into Fighting Game

This year Riot is shaking things up for the in-client event. The last three years have been nothing but visual novels and while those were nice and fun, they did get very repetitive, hence why Riot has decided to do something different this time around.

In the trailer we can see that Riot have added little metagames and they look and feel like actual fighting games. Thank you Riot for sunsetting those 32-bit PC because finally we can add in fun stuff like this, eh?

In the trailer for the event we even get a glimpse of the metagame. Gwen and Samira face off against one another, so we hope to be able to do the same and choose our own fighter with whom we're going to fight during this in-client event.

By participating in the metagame, we're also going to be able to earn exclusive rewards, which is also nice to see. Maybe some tokens or emotes?

In the coming days Riot will reveal more about the game mode and the event in total, with it hitting the PBE on June 27 so it'll be ready for LoL Patch 13.14.
