LoL Patch 13.1 is here, which also marks the start into a new League of Legends season. These are all the buffs and nerfs we find in the first LoL patch notes after filling ourselves with turkey and stuffing.
LoL Patch 13.1 is the first patch of the 2023 year, and it's already got some promising updates coming. When the actual ranked season starts has been revealed as well. Let's go over all the changes in this patch!LoL Patch 13.1: Jax Mid-Scope Update
Jax is getting a mid-scope update in the newest League of Legends Patch. This isn't a huge mid-scope like that of Olaf where the balance team even renamed one of his abilities. Instead, this is an update to make the champion feel a little better to play without changing all too much.
Jax Mid-Scope Update Abilities
Let's go over the changes in Jax' kit and what the balance team has updated to improve his gameplay.
Abilities | Changes |
Leap Strike (Q) |
|
Counter Strike (E) |

Grandmaster's Might (R) |

His ultimate has been improved with new animations and is much cleaner. This should improve his gameplay by a lot.
A new fun passive was also added to his kit. Jax will now also have an in-game mini-game with which you can go fishing in the river to earn one extra gold. Oh, and fish champions will give Jax one extra gold as well upon kill. Watch out Nami and Fizz.
League of Legends Patch 13.1 Addresses ARAM Issues
The League of Legends community has been pretty outspoken regarding the changes to ARAM. The map received a small overhaul with an added brush, as well as a new falling tower mechanic which impacts the already small map. Now, Riot is making some balance changes to try and appease the ARAM community.
Marksmen are getting slight buffs, with lifesteal effectiveness on minions getting buffed from 50% to 60%. Marksmen have been the weakest class in ARAM since the changes and this should help them out, especially in the late game.
Death timers have also been a topic of discussion for ARAM players who feel that there is no comeback potential due to the long death timers. With the 12.23 ARAM changes, the death timers were increased by 3 seconds for the late game. Therefore, Riot is shaving off one second off the respawn time from levels 11 to 18.
Champion Adjustments in ARAM
A few specific champions are also be getting adjusted in the new League of Legends patch. For a full list of champion changes check out the Tweet below. A total of 29 champion buffs and nerfs hit ARAM in the patch.

Jak'Sho and Seraphe's Embrace Adjustments in LoL Patch 13.1
Riot is also making some major adjustment to Jak'Sho as well. The item, meant for tanks, has been one of the most popular items in the entire game with it having a 70%-build rate. Most champions using this item aren't even tanks, so it makes sense that Riot is making some major changes.
They will try to make it neutral on tanks, while weakening it on non tank champions like Irelia, Lillia and Diana who have some insane win rates when building this item.
- Are you wondering which champions are good with Jak'Sho? Well, worry not because we've listed the best Jak'Sho abusers for you!
Seraph's Embrace was on the adjustment board for the League of Legends 2023 Preseason as well, but Riot took those changes off the table since they weren't happy with them. In LoL Patch 13.1 we'll see the actual adjustments go live.

Upcoming Skins in LoL Patch 13.1
A new set of skins makes its way onto live servers with LoL Patch 13.1. We're getting new Mythmaker skins to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Lunar New Year skins are nothing new in League of Legends, but Riot always finds unique new concepts for them.

- Mythmaker Galio
- Mythmaker Irelia

Irelia is getting a legendary skin, while Sivir is getting her first prestige skin as well. An old skin also makes a comeback in the mythic shop with Porcelain Lissandra getting her own prestige in 13.1.
These are all the changes in League of Legends Patch 13.1. The year is starting off strong, now with all the jungle changes that have been implemented it's about time we can finally start playing ranked again to earn ourselves a Victorious skin for Season 13... damn I'm old.
