Two supporters have been disabled from playing at this year's Mid-Season Invitational in League of Legends. That's how it is with the professional esports scene. Sometimes you have to keep the balance within professionalism.

LoL MSI 2023: These Two Champions Should Be Disabled

As fans of league's esports, we are well aware of the importance of draft strategy and composition. According to the rules that Riot Games set in 2020, Milio and Yuumi will not be allowed to appear in the MSI 2023 games.

Per Riot Games:

We know that draft strategy is very important and complex at the professional level, and when a champion becomes mandatory to pick or ban in every game, it has a negative impact on how teams are able to approach the draft and champion diversity suffers.

These two champions belong to the top ¼ of the ban percentage in high elo. So it's no wonder these champions might be disabled for MSI. But Riot elaborates further why they won't be seen at the tournament.

Yuumi and Milio, conversely, are not disqualified by just this one rule established by Riot Games. Another rule that the inconspicuous two do not follow is the timing of their rework and introduction to Summoner's Rift.

Per Riot Games:

New champions and VGUs must be enabled for playoffs in all four of the regions in order to be playable at the next international tournament.

The condition for joining the MSI of the champions in question is that they were playable in the playoffs. As we could see Yuumi and Milio were not part of this group, since most playoffs took place on LoL Patch 13.5, therefore their appearance at MSI will be excluded.

The reason that these two supports could not be played during the league playoffs is that Yuumi's Rework, as well as Milio's first patch, were LoL Patch 13.6, concurs with the rules established by Riot Games.

If you ask me, they could also knock these two out of my solo queue, especially if they are in the enemy team...
