Fortnite's competitive game modes allow players to test their skills and prove who's the best in Battle Royale. Epic Games is known for hosting Cash Cups and other competitions to further promote the game's competitive community. And there's always a lot of cash involved. But just because things are going well doesn't mean Epic Games is resting on its laurels.

This article contains all the information about the latest competitive changes.

Fortnite Ranked Modes

The rank of all players was reset at the beginning of Chapter 5 Season 2 to give everyone a fresh start. Dive into battle now and play a ranked match to receive your new rank (one match for Battle Royale and Zero Build each).

Your rank will be a requirement for participating in tournaments that Epic organizes this season, among other factors.

For Chapter 5 Season 2, Fortnite offers the following ranked modes for Battle Royale:

Battle Royale:

  • Solo
  • Duo
  • Trio
  • Team

Zero Build:

  • Solo
  • Duos

Ranked Cups

The Ranked Cups are also making a comeback. Players will have the opportunity to compete in Battle Royale and Zero Build in team, duo, or solo formats against opponents with similar ranks.

This time, duo and team competitors can even queue solo and then form a group with other solo players in matchmaking.

Play at least six matches in any Ranked Cup to earn the Bolt of Light Loading Screen. Earn at least 25 points to earn the Chain of Stars Loading Screen, 50 points for the Constellation’s Wings Loading Screen, and 75 points for the Pantheon Ranker Glider!

This glider reflects the rank of the Ranked Cup you participated in at that time. So if you rank up, you'll need to participate in another Ranked Cup to upgrade the glider to match your rank.
