BTS is the biggest selling boy group in the world and with some of the members currently doing their mandatory military service, the others are still performing. One of them, Suga, has also released a film which will also be shown internationally.
BTS is the biggest boy group in the world. The Korean pop group has taken the world by storm, cementing themselves as pop icons. The members, all being Korean, will have to go through their mandatory military service, which means some of the other members will have time to focus on solo work while the group as a whole is on hiatus.
One of the members, lead rapper of the group, Min "Suga" Yoon-gi did just that. In the Summer of 2023 he went on a solo world tour, taking the cameras with him and now he's announced that the concert tour movie is going to be coming to theaters.
BTS is a South Korean boy band formed in Seoul in 2013. The group consists of seven members and is known for their diverse musical styles, intricate choreography, and socially conscious lyrics. BTS has won numerous awards both domestically in South Korea and internationally. They've also made history by being the first Korean group to receive nominations and win at the Grammy Awards.
BTS Suga's Concert Movie Will Release Internationally
On March 5, 2024 the official BTS YouTube page released a short video of Suga, also known as August D for some of his solo work, revealing the release of the movie. This must have been filmed way ahead of time, since he enlisted in the military in September 2023.
South Korean mandatory military service is a legal requirement for all male citizens aged 18 to 28. They must serve in the military for approximately 18 to 21 months, depending on the branch. This conscription system is intended to maintain the country's defense readiness amid ongoing tensions with North Korea.
It's been a while and I'm back with a video to share some very special news. The D-Day tour was so meaningful, because it told the story of my journey as both Suga and August D. The emotions I felt during the Final are still so vivid, and now that very D-Day The Final concert will be released worldwide.
The concert film will not only be released in Suga's home country of South Korea, though, with the film also being shown internationally in some theaters. This won't be the rapper and producer's first time in front of the camera though, with a documentary, Suga: Road to D-Day, also having released last year on Disney+ and Weverse.
The film, D-Day: The Movie, was recorded during Suga's final show of his international tour. The movie is going to be shown on April 10 and 13, 2024. Fans can check the official website to see which theaters are going to be showing the concert film.
Tickets will be going on sale March 12 at 11 am ET/8 am PT. Good luck Army, this is going to be a fight to the death for tickets, I bet.
