Lionsgate has set the stage for more action-packed mayhem with the announcement of a new John Wick series, and fans can expect a new wave of adrenaline-fueled adventure as the studio delves deeper into the John Wick universe.
Filmmaker Chad Stahelski previously hinted at the development of a new John Wick franchise, and now it has been confirmed that it is moving forward at Lionsgate. Despite the apparent demise of Keanu Reeves' iconic assassin character in John Wick: Chapter 4, it has been confirmed that the series is moving forward, with the studio actively seeking potential streamers and networks for distribution.
New John Wick Series Will Closely Follow "The Continental"
The company's vice chairman, Michael Burns, shared information about the new project during a Q&A session at Morgan Stanley's media conference: “I think we’ll take one of our great action franchises starring Keanu Reeves, I think it’ll be a television series”, he says.
The recently confirmed John Wick series, as reported by Deadline, follows closely on the heels of the prequel series "The Continental", which consisted of three one-and-a-half-hour long films. You can watch the series on Amazon Prime Video with this 30-day free trial .
