Pitch Perfect 4 is set to bring back the popular film girl group to the screen. With the first movie in the series having premiered more than 10 years ago in September 2012 and the third in December 2017, anticipation is high.During a recent interview with Gaby Roslin, Rebel Wilson, famous for her role as Amy in Pitch Perfect, hinted at a fourth installment currently in development, marking a return after a long break.
Pitch Perfect 4: The New Installment
Pitch Perfect follows a group of girls who love to sing, starting from street competitions to bigger tournaments. Who hasn't tried to replicate the iconic Cup Song?
The series' final film premiered in theaters in 2017, fueling speculation that there might not be a fourth installment. However, during an interview, Rebel Wilson revived hope when she said:
Hopefully there’s a fourth one in the works. There is one being developed. I mean, I know we’re older now so I don’t exactly know what the storyline’s going to be... I guess they’ve got to get the script right first, the age-old dilemma.
The actress took on one of the leading roles in the films, portraying the character of Amy. Amy is depicted as a humorous and self-assured woman, eager to explore the music scene alongside her friends.
Wilson mentioned that filming was enjoyable, and even now, the girls remain in contact. However, since many years have passed since the last film, it's very likely that the script will need to account for the years, and will perhaps go in a "getting the band back together" direction. Wilson couldn't provide any exact details.
We're hyped for more Pitch Perfect. Do you think they can make a sequel work after all this time?
