EA Sports FC has kept a long-standing partner on board by extending its commitment with the EFL. The new contract has been extended until the end of the 2028/29 season.
EA Sports FC always aims to offer players the best and most authentic gaming experience. To ensure this, contracts with the different leagues are of immense importance. It has now been confirmed, that the EFL will continue to be part of EA Sports FC.
The English Football League currently consists of 3 leagues:
- EFL Championship
- EFL League One
- EFL League Two
These 3 leagues follow from the Premier League in exactly this order (in terms of level). Together, they represent 72 teams with over 1800 players, which will remain accessible to you in EA Sports FC until 2029.

EA Sports FC: EFL Partnership Will Continue
For the EFL, EA Sports FC is more than just a licensee. Naturally, EA is primarily interested in maintaining its own game content at the highest level. However, since the 2017/18 season, the publisher has also been an official partner of the English Football League.

Whether it's the introduction of game content, like this ball in February 2024, to support the EFL's statement "Football is for everyone," or sponsoring the annual Young Player of the Season Awards. Both sides seem to be able to benefit from each other, which is why they have decided to extend the partnership.
The community's opinion is still somewhat tense regarding this matter. Any comments call for the introduction of more stadiums of the EFL teams, overlays of game displays, or more in-game faces. Furthermore, there are often complaints about the low number of special cards that EFL players receive (or don't receive).
