New job listings by developer CD Projekt Red reveal what players can expect from the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
CD Projekt RED recently revealed some new hires for the team working on Project Orion, the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. They posted job listings to bolster the team, which inadvertently revealed some possible details about the game.
Cyberpunk Orion: Gameplay Features Leaked
The 18 new job listings on the CD Projekt RED website reveal several details, and the game is shaping up to be quite similar to the first game. It’s indicated that the game will once again feature crafting and that scripted cutscenes will be mixed with dynamic gameplay elements.
One ad also mentions open-world events, which were in 2077 but weren’t a major feature in the game. It makes sense that the game will take elements from the previous game and try to improve them.
Narrative director Igor Sarzyński recently said that Cyberpunk Orion is aiming for a “similar evolution” as we saw with The Witcher games, meaning an improvement and expansion of existing elements with each game. These revealed details seem to confirm that approach.
Cyberpunk Orion, which is the code name for the game, is still a long way away. CD Projekt RED will first focus on the next mainline Witcher title while a small team starts work on Orion. Once The Witcher is released, work on Orion will go into full production. Considering how long AAA games take to develop nowadays, it’s doubtful whether we will see Orion this decade.
