A leak has revealed that Destiny 3 has already been in the works since 2022 and is developed under the codename Project Payback.
Destiny 3 appears to have been in development since 2022. This was recently claimed by the same person who correctly predicted the Prism system in Destiny 2.
Destiny 3 "Project Payback" Is In Development
Project Payback is the codename of the upcoming Destiny sequel Destiny 3, which has apparently been in the works for two years.
This was leaked by a Reddit user who previously revealed that Bungie was working on the Prism system, which allows players to combine abilities from different subclasses. At the time it was leaked, many didn't believe it, but now that it's turning out to be true, we should take everything this person has claimed a bit more serious.
The person who correctly predicted Destiny 2's new subclass says Destiny 3 has been in development since The Witch Queen, a 2022 DLC. It mentions that it is a new game in the Destiny franchise. by u/Astraliguss in GamingLeaksAndRumours
Just recently, they then claimed that Destiny 3 (Project Payback) had been in development at least since "The Witch Queen" came out in 2022. They also confirmed that Destiny 3 is in fact going to be a separate game in the franchise and not a DLC, like many thought.
So, what could the sequel to Destiny 2 be about? Let's take a look:
What Could Destiny 3 Be About
In Destiny 1, players become Guardians, warriors tasked with defending humanity's last city from alien threats like the Fallen, Hive, Vex, and Cabal. They battle against the Darkness, an ancient enemy, and its agents across the solar system.
Destiny 2 continued the fight as Guardians had to face off against Dominus Ghaul and the Red Legion, who were seeking to take the Traveler's power for themselves.
Although we know nothing about the actual plot of Destiny 3 yet, fans are speculating that it could involve new storylines involving The Nine or Xivu Arath, potentially introducing a greater threat to the universe.
