Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus was banned in Counter-Strike 2 and turned to Twitter/X to complain about it.
It might be surprising to hear for some, but professional football players often have a ton of free time. A lot of those fill that free time with gaming, which frequently leads to hilarious stories. Like this one, where Arsenal FC star Gabriel Jesus was banned from Counter-Strike 2, promptly pleading his innocence online.
Gabriel Jesus Banned From Counter-Strike 2 Via Valve Anti-Cheat
The Brazilian international wrote a polite, but urgent message on Twitter, urging the official Counter-Strike account to hear his plea. In the tweet, Jesus alleges that his account “received a VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) ban unfairly” and asks for help to resolve the issue.
Hi @counterstrike my account received a VAC ban unfairly, can you help me? Follow the account link and print of the ban https://t.co/pd2BgmA2BX pic.twitter.com/yQPI8uM5Jj

Why exactly Jesus has been banned from Counter-Strike is unclear. VAC usually bans players for cheating in some kind of way, usually for using a third-party software to gain some advantages through aimbots, wallhacking or similar tricks. Whether a professional striker needs aimbots is doubtful.
However, it regularly happens that VAC can ban players for no good reason. It’s not a perfect system and mistakes happen all the time. Gabriel Jesus seems to allege that his case is one such mistake.
Either way, this is one of the most high-profile banning cases in a long time and has caused quite some stir online. The responses to the tweet are frankly hilarious, especially some of the top responses like “Bro's been practising the wrong shooting drills“ or “You’re worried about the wrong shooting”, referencing the fact that the striker has only scored seven goals in 21 games this season.
