Gordon Ramsay, the well-known television chef, has had a horrible bike accident recently, prompting him to advocate for bike safety and helmets this father's day.
Gordon Ramsay posted a surprising video on TikTok for Father's Day this year, advocating for bike safety and helmets. He explained that he's "lucky to be here" after a horrible bike accident, which prompted him to make a short TikTok showing off his injuries.
In the clip, he lifted part of his shirt, revealing a huge purple bruise spanning his entire abdomen. Not only that, but he's even explained that this accident could have ended much differently, had he not been wearing a helmet.
Gordon Ramsay Reveals Injury After Bike Accident
Gordon Ramsay, known for various cooking shows and 5-star restaurants, is probably the most famous celebrity chef out there. He's also taken to TikTok to review fans' cooking as well. On June 16, Father's Day, he made a completely different type of video on the social media platform, though.
@gordonramsayofficial Sound ON for this one...with #FathersDay tomorrow I have very important message for all the dads out there...WEAR A HELMET ! This week I had a really bad accident while riding my bike in Connecticut. I'm doing ok and did not break any bones or suffer any major injuries but I am a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato. I'm thankful for all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lawerence + Memorial Hospital in New London who looked after me and checked me out, but most thankful for my helmet that saved my life. Have a great Father's Day and be safe Gx

In this video, he revealed that he's been in a horrible bike accident, even stating that it could have ended much differently if he hadn't been wearing a helmet.
You know how much I love cycling and triathlons and Ironman [races] etc and this week, unfortunately, I had a really bad accident, and it really shook me, and honestly I’m lucky to be here. [...] You've got to wear helmets. I don’t care how short the journey is. I don’t care … these helmets cost money, but they’re crucial, even with a kid’s short journey, they’ve got to wear a helmet.
Throughout the video, Ramsay's hand is seen to be shaking uncontrollably, which could be another repercussion from the accident. He also showed off his abdomen, which is completely purple, with Ramsay saying, "I’m lucky to be standing here. I’m in pain. It’s been a brutal week".
In the description of the video, Ramsay did say that no bones were broken and that he's doing alright and just bruised up looking like "a purple potato". It is still scary to see, especially since it could have been far worse. So stay safe, wear helmets and don't be idiot sandwiches guys.
