Folks. The time has come for a new Zelda! At the latest Nintendo Direct on June 18, Eiji Aonuma announced a sequel to Link's Awakening. It is called "The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom" and will be the first Zelda game, where the princess isn't the one who needs saving.
An unexpected but pleasant surprise. A new Zelda in the same style as Link's Awakening just got announced, AND it comes with an exciting twist that we have all been waiting for.
New Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Announced
Tables have turned with the freshly announced Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. The game is going to be a sequel to Nintendo Switch's Zelda: Link's Awakening, but this time. It is not princess Zelda that we need to save, but it is Link himself and the many people of Hyrule who have been taken by a dark force that opened up the ground and stole many souls.
In this upcoming new Zelda the princess who gave this legendary franchise its name, is finally going to be the main protagonist.
But that doesn't mean that she is going to yield the Master Sword now or wear a green tunic, that would be too ordinary. No. Zelda will have a new power that we never saw in any game of the series. With the help of Fairy "Tri", Zelda gains the power to duplicate and "echo" objects such as tables, beds, plants and even monsters. With this new ability, Zelda is going to enter mysterious dungeons, face tough battles and solve puzzles, to save her kingdom.
We love the direction, that Nintendo took with this new Zelda title, because it still reminds us of what they did in Tears of the Kingdom , by giving the player infinite possibilities to be creative and explore this world in a sandbox(y) style.
Echoes of Wisdom Release Date
The best thing about this sudden announcement is that we won't even have to wait long until the game releases.
