The latest Nintendo Switch update 18.0.0 brought a new setting onto the console that allows us to save more energy.
The Nintendo Switch update 18.0.0 was just released and added a few changes to the consoles' software. Similar to the last update 17.0.0, there aren't any big and significant changes. But a new power saving feature has made it into the new patch, and it might be interesting for you if you have your console docked a lot.
Nintendo Switch System Update 18.0.0 Patch Notes
This update introduces a new option for auto-sleep duration when playing on TV. Users now have the choice to set the auto-sleep timer to 15 minutes, which gives us more flexibility in the power-saving features compared to the one-hour auto-sleep timer of the previous version. This way, the console will automatically go into rest mode, after it hasn't been used for 15 minutes.
- From now on you will be able to access this feature, by navigating to your system settings > sleep mode > auto-sleep (playing on TV screen).
The update brought some more minor changes as well, here are the full patch notes.
