NBA MVP Nikola Jokić is known to be a League of Legends fan and player himself. In a recent interview he revealed his main champions and honestly, is anyone surprised?
Nikola Jokić is a 2-time NBA MVP and probably one of the best Basketball players in the world right now. He's won the NBA title in 2023 with the Denver Nuggets and has become one of the most well-known sports stars in North America.
But there are multiple things he seems to like doing even more than playing basketball, with horse racing and League of Legends apparently pretty high on that list. Recently, he was asked who his main champions were, and the answer was anything but surprising.
Nikola Jokić Names His League of Legends Role
Nikola Jokić has revealed on multiple occasions that he is a League of Legends player. He's even showed up to post game press conferences in merch from League of Legends streamer SoloRenektonOnly.
During the 2024 NBA All Star Game, he was asked about his role in League and it seemed that the question was the one he'd been waiting for, his face visibly lighting up. Jokić revealed that he is a top lane main and mentioned his two main champions right now.

He first mentioned Urgot, then also said that he's been playing a lot of Illaoi lately. Honestly, based. This TikTok clip has gone viral, with the Reddit community also weighing in, and it seems like no one is surprised at Jokić's champion choices.
One user even wrote, "he definitely looks like he'd be an Urgot main", while others try to figure out what rank he is. Some believe he could be in Challenger just because he is Jokić, while others jokingly wrote that in another universe he 1v9's T1 at Worlds Finals which... I can see as well.
It's always interesting to see other big sports stars playing the same games as mere mortals. Dallas Mavericks player Luka Dončić is also known to be an Overwatch Grand Master. What other sports stars can you think of that are huge gaming enthusiasts?
