Riot Games just revealed some exciting news about another Arena run, as well as a sneak peek at the brand-new PvE game mode.
In January, Riot Games already teased players with some tidbits of information on a brand-new game mode. Now, we finally have a more concrete idea of what this mode could look like, and OG fans can be excited to know that it will resemble older modes like Odyssey or Star Guardian.
Not only that, but the popular Arena mode is making a comeback, this time with some changes.
League of Legends: All Information On The New PvE Game Mode
The wait is finally over! On April 8, 2024, new information was released regarding the brand new PvE (Player vs. Enemy) game mode. This mode was developed by none other than Riot August, a well-known LoL Lead Designer. The new mode is a Bullet Heaven Survivor PvE and can be played either alone or with friends.

What exactly you have to do has not been revealed yet. It seems like the player might have to stand in the middle of an arena and try and survive as long as possible against hordes of minions and other monsters — I see some Milio fuemigos in the image from Riot August.
The game mode should be live for the big Summer event this year and a select few champions will be able to participate, similar to the previous Star Guardian mode as well.
League of Legends: The Arena Mode Is Coming Back!
The last time we saw the Arena mode was during the 2023 Winterblessed Event. Now, the mode is coming back, but Riot is making a few key changes to keep players engaged and interested.
Riot is also shaking things up with the item system, adding in a brand-new item category — prismatic items. These should be game defining and depending on which ones you choose, your game can be very different every single time.
Eduardo Cortejoso gives an example:
The Demon King's Crown increases your basic stats by a lot. But here's the fun part, it increases each round you win, but if you lose a round, you actually lose more than you gain. So make sure you become pretty unkillable.
Thank you for that Faker reference!
Another change is that items can also be purchased outside of the shop through Anvils. Players have to be aware though that this will be a gamble and will be less reliable than buying from the shop.
Riot Games hopes that this will make the game mode more varied and players won't always have to face the same champion combinations.
So brace yourselves for epic battles and look forward to entering the arena with your friends!
