The Harry Potter series has come under fire because of creator J.K. Rowling and her stance on transgender people. Many former fans have decided to boycott the books and movies and any other content coming from the franchise like video games.

Actors Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson have also spoken out against J.K. Rowling, making their stance as pro-trans clear, and making sure that everyone knows that the creators' opinion is her own, and not shared by the staff and actors of the movie. But with a new Harry Potter series in the works, will older actors make a return?

Daniel Radcliffe Reveals Whether He'll Be In HBO Harry Potter Series

In an interview with E! News at the Drama League Awards on May 17, Radcliffe was asked about a potential cameo or role in the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series. He simply answered, "I don't think so", dampening the hope of many that the actor would return for a small cameo or a small role in the series.

Radcliffe added on that he believes the producers of the series will want to keep it separate from the existing movies.

I think they very wisely want to [have] a clean break. And I don't know if it would work to have us do anything in it.

It is also very likely that Radcliffe is also separating himself from the project after he has come out to speak on pro-transgender rights multiple times already, souring the relationship with creator J.K. Rowling. It'll be interesting to see whether any of the original cast get a cameo or a role in the series, though, but for now it isn't looking like that will happen.
