Dragon Ball Super, written by Akira Toriyama and illustrated by Toyotarou has, for obvious reasons, been on hiatus for the last few weeks. But now, the official Dragon Ball website has revealed that there could be more chapters coming in the future.
Dragon Ball Super has been on hiatus these last few weeks. Ever since the passing of Dragon Ball's creator of Akira Toriyama, the manga has been on break, but a recent message on the official Dragon Ball website has revealed that the manga likely won't be faced with an indefinite hiatus.
On their website, it is written, "Get All the Latest Info on Dragon Ball Games and Goods in the Jam-Packed V Jump Super-Sized June Edition". They also revealed what content fans can expect.
Dragon Ball Super Return Later This Year
While it hasn't been confirmed when or what is being planned, thanks to the news on the official website, it does seem like there will be some news in the June Jump V magazine. The post on the website was followed up with an illustration by Dragon Ball Super mangaka Toyotarou.
Until the Dragon Ball Super manga returns to start its new story, Jump will feature illustrations and commentary from Toyotarou, plus special features that'll make reading the SUPER HERO arc even more fun!
So it seems that fans will be receiving some illustrations with comments by Toyotarou in the foreseeable future. Not only that, but special features will also be released that are going "make reading the superhero arc even more fun".
This is a good sign that the manga is going to continue. The story has been on hiatus since chapter 103 and while it will take time and patience until Toyotarou continues the story, it is not currently on an indefinite hiatus. When the exact return date will be, has not been disclosed yet.
Whenever Toyotarou feels ready to continue, most likely, since he was very close to Akira Toriyama, even stating that the Dragon Ball creator's praise meant "everything to him".
Dragon Ball Super is illustrated by Toyotarou, a former television director turned manga artist. The manga series was written by Akira Toriyama with the original creator still involved in the process of Dragon Ball Super.
