The story of Westeros continues in another planned spinoff by HBO. The series based off of George R.R. Martin's novella The Hedge Knight is going to be releasing in the next year or so, and HBO is already teasing fans with what is to come.

The series is set about 100 years before the eventsin Game of Thrones, and 100 years after House of the Dragon. This means you're going to be introduced to brand-new characters that until this point you've only heard about.

Game of Thrones Spinoff: Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Starts Filming

Recently, to celebrate the start of filming, HBO released an image, showing off our main character, Ser Duncan the Tall. The show will center around him, as well as his young squire Egg. The duo will encounter a multitude of key figures that fans have heard about before while watching Game of Thrones like Prince Aerion Targaryen, Prince Baelor Targaryen and Prince Maekar Targaryen.

This first season of the series is going to feature 6-episodes and should encompass the entire first novella. So it is highly likely that at least two more seasons, based off the other Dunk & Egg novella's will be made in the future.

This is the description by HBO for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms:

A century before the events of ‘Game of Thrones,’ two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.

So, it looks like this could be a pretty promising show, especially with some of the big names and stars that will be a part of the project. For now there is no official release date yet, but with filming having just kicked off in Ireland, fans will have to be a bit more patient.
