House of the Dragon season 2 has just kicked off and while many fans of Game of Thrones tuned in, quite a few folks decided to watch something else. One of those people was none other than Emilia Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones.

In a recent interview, she explained why she hasn't gotten around to watching the prequel of Game of Thrones, even though the entire series is about her characters' family.

Emilia Clarke was the Targaryen in Game of Thrones and one of the most beloved characters from the series. But it seems that even though the prequel series is about House Targaryen, it isn't something the actress feels up to watching. In a recent interview with People she explained that she won't be following the story of the prequel.

I feel so content and happy with what my experience was, that I think watching the new one would just feel so odd, I think.

It doesn't seem like it's anything negative about the show though that is stopping her from viewing the prequel series, with her not able to explain why it is that she hasn't watched the show, "I still can't. I just don't know what it is".

Even though she herself hasn't watched it and likely won't, she isn't telling people to not watch the show either. She supports the team behind the series and is excited for how well it's doing overall, "I do support the entire thing and everyone who's made it, and it's beautiful how successful it's been".

The second season of House of the Dragon made its debut on HBO on June 16 and is presumed to be one of the biggest hits of the Summer, along with shows like The Boys season 4 and Ring of Power season 2.

And as House of Dragon has already been confirmed for a third season, we know there is still a lot more to be told in the future.
