In less than a month, fans will get to experience the PlayStation 5 – the next-generation console for Sony. A lot is already known, but thanks to the new Teardown video, we now also know what the inside of the huge white game console looks like.
How big is the PlayStation 5 really? What about the fans? And where can I find SSD hard disk? Sony has answered these and many more questions in the Teardown video on the PS5.
PlayStation 5 Teardown Video Gives Details About the Console
Yasuhiro Ootori, Vice President of the Mechanical Design Department, Hardware Design Division at Sony, takes about seven minutes to take a detailed look at the inner workings of the upcoming next-generation PlayStation 5 console.
First of all, he goes into the dimensions of the PS5, because the console will - as we have long known - be quite huge. But there is a good reason for this. Ootori also shows the connections in the video and reveals how the new cooling system of the PlayStation 5 works.

Now we know which ports are on the front (1x USB-A, 1x USB-C) and which are on the back of the console (2x USB-A, 1x Lan-connector, 1x HDMI-Out, 1x power connector). The video also shows how to mount the stand of the PS5 to use the console in standing and lying position.
Another exciting feature is the SSD memory extension: This is an M.2 interface with PCIe 4.0 support. The Blu-Ray drive is also likely to be significantly quieter than the current PS4, thanks to additional metal casing.
