The Valorant ranked system will enter a trial period in the newly added regions. Players from Brazil, South Korea, and Latin America will all be able to take part. Not too long ago, Riot announced the inclusion of a couple of new regions into the Valorant closed beta. Brazil, South Korea, and Latin America joined the beta about two weeks ago on May 2. Before that, only players from the USA, Canada, Europe, Russia, and Turkey were able to experience the game. The ranked mode was added to the old regions in late April and despite receiving some criticism it’s working as intended.

Ranked is now coming to the three newly added regions starting today, May 15. It will only be for a limited time to test server stability and the trial will come to an end on Tuesday, May 19. As the tweet above by Riot reminds us, players will need to have at least 20 unranked matches in order to join the ranked experience. If you want to check how many games you have you can simply click on the competitive tab. There you’ll find out the number of games needed to unlock ranked.
Ranking up
There’s a total of 8 ranks in Valorant, varying from Iron to Valorant. In-between each rank there are also tiers from 1 to 3. The higher you go the closer you are to getting the next medal.
In order to get a rank, you’ll need to play 5 placement matches as the system tries to identify your skill level. Calibration results can vary greatly and there isn’t a cap on where you’ll be placed. Some players which are completely new to the genre may get Iron or Bronze, while some pro players like Michael “shroud” Grzesiek have landed in Diamond.
If you’ve recently got your hands on a beta key in some of the new regions this weekend will be the perfect time to check out Valorant and its ranked system. Stay tuned for more Valorant news. In the meantime make sure to check out EarlyGame for more updates from the world of gaming and esports.
