Riot Games has officially confirmed the existence Valorant, the next upcoming first-person shooter which sets to overtake popular game Counter-Strike.
Supporting popular game League of Legends for now over a decade, Riot Games finally decided to create different content including new video game titles and much more. In a press release on League of Legends 10th anniversary, huge waves were made when the company confirmed the existence of multiple games in the works and we finally know the name of one of them, Valorant.
Valorant is a tactical first-person shooter, much like games such as Team Fortress and Counter-Strike. Valorant will offer many unique differences in the gameplay, for example, magic and abilities much like it's massively popular game League of Legends. Right now the Twitter account is finally alive and posting, including an official trailer and gameplay trailer going over what looks to be a typical round when playing Valorant.

"Here’s what we think it takes for you to trust a game enough to invest: 128-tick servers, at least 30 frames per second on most min-spec computers (even dating back a decade), 60 to 144 FPS on modern gaming rigs, a global spread of datacenters aimed at <35ms for players in major cities around the world, a netcode we’ve been obsessing over for years, and a commitment to anti-cheat from day one. Shooting in VALORANT is precise, consequential, and highly-lethal - we want you to win on your skill and strategy alone" - Valorant
Naturally, big esports companies and fans are very excited about this upcoming game by Riot Games. We can see where they have taken inspiration from in what seems to be a mix of Overwatch, Counter-Strike, and League of Legends all bundled up into this fantasy style first-person tactical shooter. Give the game-play trailer a look. If this alpha footage is anything to go by, it looks like Valorant is shaping up to be something pretty damn impressive this year. Of course, we'll see just how well it does against a hugely popular game like Counter-Strike but at any rate, you can expect Valorant to drop this summer 2020.
