All Fortnite Seasons Tier List: Ranking From Worst To Best Ever!

1-30

Let's take a trip down the memory lane. Sit back and join us as we look back through the nostalgia of ALL 29 Fortnite Seasons.

Benjamin Pohl Benjamin Pohl
Fortnite - June 20th 2024, 12:44 GMT+2
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6

30. Chapter 2 Season 6

Let's start with the worst season in Fortnite. In Chapter 2 Season 6 Lara Croft was released in Fortnite, and this remains one of the most popular skins today. But that's it. Nothing else was good.

We had Primal weapons with a bloom that even the greatest players could only deal 0 damage, and we had the makeshift guns that were also terrible.

To get good weapons, you had to pickaxe cars for 5 minutes straight to get metal parts. This allowed you to craft a decent Spas pump gun, for example.

Even though there were some cool features in the season, the community is still traumatized by the excessive pickaxing. | © Epic Games

Chapter 3 Season 4 Fortnite

29. Chapter 3 Season 4

Chrome doesn't seem to be loved that much in the Fortnite community. Even though it was once a varied feature, the season really wasn't all that popular. Maybe it was also due to the fact that Chapter 4 was just around the corner and people just wanted to get rid of Chapter 3. There was also somehow no item that really triggered any hype in the community. As a result, it was only good enough for the 28th place. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Wrecked

28. Chapter 5 Season 3

The current Season 3 of Chapter 5 is... different. Players are driving around in cars rather than building towers or shooting each other (with normal guns). Because they don't need to! The cars already can feature a massively overpowered turret. Overall, the season is more Like The Fast and The Fortnite and has nothing to do with the known battle royale game.

Sure, it's a fun change of pace, but players are already fed up with the season. Maybe Epic will make a few changes and save the season with crossovers like Pirates of the Caribbean, but so far we're not really excited. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8

27. Chapter 2 Season 8

The season actually had a huge loot pool with something for basically everyone. However, there were a lot of strange weapons as well, especially due to the zombie events, which were frustratingly bad.

As with Chapter 3 Season 4, the desire for a new chapter probably played a significant role. Also, the general hype surrounding the season and the game wasn't as good as in early Chapter 2. But maybe the zombies just aren't the right thing in a Battle Royale. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

26. Chapter 3 Season 3

Despite having four different shotguns available, the cursed Stinger SMG was perhaps the most formidable. Many players likely still recall the rattling sound of this extremely fast-firing SMG in their worst nightmares. And if that wasn't enough, who wouldn't love to die from a Darth Vader firing a Kamehameha at you? | © Epic Games

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5

25. Chapter 2 Season 5

Season 5 of Chapter 2 produced mixed feelings within the community. While the introduction of the ability to dive through the sand biome was a cool new feature, many were disappointed by the removal of their beloved pump shotgun from the game. Although the Dragon's Breath Shotgun served as an exciting replacement, the Mandalorian season didn't prove to be as popular as expected. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2

24. Chapter 3 Season 2

The twentieth Fortnite season was supposed to kick off the zero build era. However, players were not happy with being forced to play Zero Build for two weeks straight.

The new tanks were not exactly well received by the community either - especially in combination with the forced Zero Build mode! If you have to answer the question of which shotgun to choose with a Stinger or Combat SMG again, that's not a good sign for a season, either. Both were simply too OP.

Nevertheless, the season was revolutionary and deserves at least 24th place. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Season X

23. Chapter 1 Season X

Even if the season was hated for the incredibly dumb and OP mechs, also known as B.R.U.T.E. machines, you have to remember that we had a lot of other dumb things in the history of Fortnite. And there was also something good about it, many casual players picked up the game again and with the nerf of the mechs, they were no longer completely broken... But they still don't need to come back... really! No tanks either!

But what should definitely be noted was that the Season X Retail Row was probably the very best drop spot ever in Fortnite history, thanks to the zombie update! The epic and legendary loot could equip easily 5 whole squads. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1

22. Chapter 4 Season 1

The fourth chapter was supposed to put Fortnite back on track to success after the number of players dropped, even if not dramatically, in recent times. So what did we get?A shockwave hammer that destroys all building and could shoot players all the way to Antarctica.

The Shockwave Hammer was not the best solution for many. Also, we had a pretty clunky Thunder Shotgun, which had a really short range, only 4 shots, and a reload time of 3 working days, which meant it really wasn't the most satisfying to play. But there are worse things (as we've seen). | © Epic Games

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3

21. Chapter 4 Season 3

Next up, we have the following season, themed "Wilds". The new jungle biome actually had a lot of cool features, and the season itself was basically solid. Even if Optimus Prime's cannon really doesn't fit into the game.

You could also camp very well in the new biome, as many bushes provided good cover and couldn't be destroyed. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7

20. Chapter 2 Season 7

Season 7 is one of the more popular ones from the late Chapter 2 era. Even though the hype was going down a bit, the season had an interesting loot pool with new weapons like the Railgun, the Pulse Rifle and the Ray Gun. It also has the most collaberations that a Fortnite season has ever had, with a total of 20! This was a little confusing sometimes, but it also had its own charm. For some players, the season will probably be even higher up in their rankings. We put it in the solid midfield. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

19. Chapter 4 Season 2

Actually a pretty good season with a good start. Mega City as a giant poi, a good shotgun in the game with the Havoc, the kinetic blade, which was 1000 times more enjoyable than the cursed hammer. But what the hell was Eren Jaeger's ODM weapon?

Everyone should have died from it often enough to be able to relate this. With this item, you could grapple on boxes, destroy them and spam attacks to damage your opponent. At the same time, it was so hard to hit you because the item made you flying through the air like a madman.

Nevertheless, the season had a lot of potential and was very loved by some players. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1

18. Chapter 2 Season 1

Let's be honest - Chapter 2 Season 1 was superb. No fancy items besides the new harpoon, but now you could swim, fish and had a whole new map. Everything was actually great.

The season lasted around four months and is still the record holder today. At some point, the new beloved gameplay simply became monotonous. But it would be perfectly legitimate to say that Chapter 2 Season 1 could also get a higher ranking.

Oh, and we had to stare at a black hole for days before the release of Season 2. There are more exciting things than that, for sure. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Season 6

17. Chapter 1 Season 6

The very first Fortnite: Nightmares event certainly caused a lot of attentiom, but overall the season's storyline was pretty compelling. A large floating cube, lots of weird zones with shadow stones as a new mobility item were added to the game. However, the zombies really got on your nerves sometimes. This is precisely why the season is one of the least popular from Chapter 1. | © Epic Games

Fortnite season 1

16. Chapter 1 Season 1

This is where it all began. At that time, nobody could have guessed what Fortnite would become in the future. The Battle Royale mode was actually just developed because Epic Games had a lot of maintenance work to do on the Save the World mode. In the meantime, it has probably fulfilled this purpose. Of course, many would argue that it was the best season ever. However, the Battle Royale mode was still pretty unbalanced and obviously not built for what we have today. There was no Battle Pass, and nobody really used the built mechanic as an advantage. And that's what Fortnite still makes so special today. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1

15. Chapter 3 Season 1

As the first season of a new chapter, the overall 19th Fortnite season had to fulfil huge expectations. And the season actually turned out to be quite amusing. Even if it had a similar problem to its successors - the Stinger SMG. In addition, with the new MK7 we got for the first time ever a really usable AR with a scope. Also, we need to mention the new map and the cool Spiderman item that literally everyone played during the season. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Season 2

14. Chapter 1 Season 2

Season 2 was the birth of the Battle Pass and the Fortnite as we know and love it. Even though most players today are probably much better than the very best at the time, this is where Fortnite and its community began to evolve. The game became more intense and Epic Games also recognized the hype. The first map changes included locations such as Shifty Shafts, Snobby Shores and - of course - Tilted Towers, which quickly became the most popular location on the map. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 Gameplay Trailer

13. Chapter 4 Season 4

Even if it was kinda chaotic - Season 26 had a lot to offer. The 3 new POIs not only all had a boss with a mythical weapon, but also a vault where you could get an old mythical weapon back into the game. The rocket rams were also pretty interesting.

Although they shredded a lot of buildings, you could also get lasered pretty easily while flying around. Only the new sticky grenade launcher was really annoying, but it wasn't in the game the whole season. | © Epic Games

Fortnite chapter 5 season 1 underground

12. Chapter 5 Season 1

Chapter 5 had some minor changes the community certainly didn't like. Namely, the bullet drop mechanic was implemented into all weapons, when previously it only happened to the DMR or Sniper.

But now, you could modify your weapons yourself with various attachments. There was also a new map with bosses, new mythical weapons and the new medallions that heal your shield over time.

The Grapple Blade, the new Flowberry items and the Crashpad Jr. provided pretty effective mobility. Also, if you used the crashpads together with a flowberry you could rotate insanely fast and extremely far.

The biggest drawback was the new movement speed, which Epic Games restored to Chapter 4 standards after a while. | © Epic Games

Fortnite chapter 5 season 2

11. Chapter 5 Season 2

The current season, Chapter 5 Season 2, has been hyped more than any other for a long time. Two huge new biomes, gods and Greek mythology as the main theme, and long-awaited collaborations like Avatar and the next wave of Star Wars have finally arrived in the Fortnite universe. The weapon balance is also very good, hardly any item is really too OP - besides the Grim Gate Medallion. Speaking about Medallions, they now have all different effects.

Also, the new Gatekeeper Shotgun was a pretty good addition to the game, if you knew how to use it. And many new items such as the Wings of Icarus, the banana of the gods and the possibility to dash give the season a pretty unique feeling. Sadly, Epic decided to vault the Greek mythology items with the Avatar collaboration coming to the island. They also kinda missed out on opportunities to include more Greek mythology content while focussing on the collabs, which was disappointing for the community. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Season 7

10. Chapter 1 Season 7

Even if many hated the planes back then, the season somehow has a nostalgic feeling. We also had one of the first mythical items ever in this season, which many probably already had forgotten about - the Infinity Blade!

You could pull it out of the ground in the Polar Peak area, which proved to be quite difficult. However, the sword wasn't in the game for too long after it took apart the million dollar Winter Royale tournament. And even if the planes sometimes sucked, some of you surely miss them. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Season 13

9. Chapter 2 Season 3

The Season 13 map was completely flooded at first. However, this changed over time pretty quickly. Aside from annoying sharks and marauders that could set the most insane snipes out of nowhere, the season was a huge enrichment. Epic replaced the pump shotgun with the new charge shotgun, which made many players angry at first, but was also somehow a refreshing change. Not to forget the water wave zone, which only remained in the game for a few days after months of programming.

And the season had one of the most powerful mythical items ever - the shockwave launcher from Kit in Catty Corner. This gun probably sent more people on a vacation trip in one season than a professional travel agency does in a whole year. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Season 9

8. Chapter 1 Season 9

This was one of the seasons that showed Epic Games would dare to make big changes to the game. For example, the initially hated combat shotgun was suddenly the best weapon of all time. Due to its low bloom, good aiming was rewarded, and it changed the entire combat system - in a positive sense!

Later, Epic Games brought back the pump shotgun for the first World Championship, and the distribution of these two weapons was actually 50:50. In combination with the new locations Neo Tilted and Mega Mall, it was an excellent season. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Season 4

7. Chapter 1 Season 4

Season 4 was part of the old prime Fortnite era.

After a meteor destroyed Dusty Depot at the end of Season 3, the crater left behind was named Dusty Divot. Risky Reels was also added, leading to one of the most difficult Weekly Challenges ever... (Open 7 chests in Risky Reels).

The Battle Pass also has a real nostalgia feel to it, but just a few have managed to get the final Omega skin to the final stage. The rocket launch at the end of the season was a great end to a great season. Never before had there been such a live event in an online video game. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Season 5

6. Chapter 1 Season 5

Same as Season 4, Fortnite was at the absolute peak. And with the huge new desert/canyon biome, Epic brought such a huge change to the game for the first time ever.

The static rifts were also brand new on the map. And just remember what else was added to the game: the Grappler, the Shockwave Grenades, the Rift-To-Go, the Double Barrel Shotgun, the Heaver Sniper, the P90 and the legendary Golf-Cart, which was the first actual car in Fortnite. So many iconic items definitely make it an iconic season! | © Epic Games

Fortnite Season 8

5. Chapter 1 Season 8

The Pirate Season included the start of Fortnite Arena, the old ranked mode. The season also brought the very first Cash Cups and the first qualifiers for the World Championship 2019. Players practiced as hard as they could and the season provided plenty of reasons to do so. Firstly, the iconic Baller was introduced, which was intended to benefit passive players in particular. There was also a treasure map item with golden weapons, cannons, a huge jungle biome and the Floor is Lava mode, which celebrated its comeback in Chapter 5. And let's not forget about the Flint Knock pistol, which is known for his creatively usable knockback feature. Ah, and we had an Airstrike, which was completely weak.

On the other hand, there were other great new items: the Shadow Bombs, the legendary infantry rifle, the Boom Bow and the Reboot Vans were introduced. Don't Forget the incredibly popular Marvels' Endgame mode. At some point in the season, the community also chose the drum gun to be unvaulted. All in all, a season with many new items, modes and ways to play. Without a question, one of the best seasons ever. | © Epic Games

Fortntie Chapter 2 Season 2

4. Chapter 2 Season 2

Many players who are still active today call this season Prime Fortnite 2. After the rather simple Season 1, Season 2 was to about to change everything. For the first time ever, there were bosses with mythical weapons and vaults on the map. And the weapons were insane! Midas' drum gun, every controller player's dream, which could sometimes feel like cheating thanks to the once powerful Aim Assist. Equally powerful were Skye's Scar and her grappler with infinite charges, as well as Brutus' minigun, which shredded everything.

On a side note, this season saw collaborations with Star Wars and Deadpool and a new helicopter that thankfully wasn't as horrible as the planes. In this season we also got the incredible Crashpad for the first time and the Heavy Sniper came back from the vault. A season that paved the way for Fortnite as we know it today! | © Epic Games

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4

3. Chapter 2 Season 4

The Stark Season makes the first step on the podium! This season was a huge cooperation with Marvel. It brought new mythical items and two new POIs to the game - Doom's Domain and Stark Industries. And Stark Industries is probably one of the best locations of all time. From the vault and the Stark Industries chests, you got countless Spas pumpguns and golden loot.

Not to forget: The Stark Industries Energy Rifle! The weapon was a hybrid of an SMG and an infantry rifle, and is one of the best assault rifles ever in the game. The return of the shockwave grenades also provided an easy-to-use mobility item. Hardly any season has had so much variety, and yet the season was so much fun, both for casual players and in the professional scene. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Season 3

2. Chapter 1 Season 3

Season 3 was probably the time when the game's popularity grew the fastest. Tyler "Ninja" Blevins quickly became a superstar. The gameplay was exciting and players began to really utilize the building feature. Lucky Landing was introduced to celebrate Chinese New Year, a place where Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf would later win the Fortnite World Cup. This season also saw Fortnite's storyline take on added significance when the map was hit by meteorites at the end of the season.

Season 3 is arguably the OG season that started the huge hype around Fortnite that got everything rolling. But what could be better than the original nostalgic season....? | © Epic Games

Fortnite Season OG

1. Season OG

Fortnite Season OG! The season that brought old squads, streamers and legends back to the game. In the first days, there was literally no time without a queue in the loading screen. So enormous was the rush to play what everyone had wished for years!

Unsurprisingly, the OG Season after Chapter 4 broke the record for simultaneous players in Fortnite. The title counted 45 million players at the same time on November 4, 2023! What happened during the season? For 30 days, you had time to play on the OG map of Chapter 1, which gradually changed slightly with the loot pool as well.

And there will be another OG season in 2024! But what awaits us exactly has not yet been confirmed.

Of course, opinions will differ on one season or another. Nevertheless, we hope you enjoyed the ranking and were able to relive the old memories. Let's hope we'll get a few more top 10-worthy seasons in the future! | © Epic Games

t's a fitting moment to reminisce about the good old days... and the not-so-good ones! Epic Games has always been unafraid to experiment with the game, evident in features like Mechs, planes, or even tanks.
