Reacher Season 2: (Early?) Release Date, Plot, Cast & News

Reacher Season 2 is going to be premiering on Amazon Prime Video in December 2023, maybe even earlier than expected. We have all the info for you: the release date, the possible plot, who's in the cast, the trailer to hype you up and any other news you could possibly ask for.

Jack Reacher – men want to be like him, women want to be with him (if they're into the quiet, stoic, unattainable type, that is). With the new Reacher on screen, Amazon managed to capture the mysterious ex-major way better than the movies with Tom Cruise – it's only fitting this gets rewarded with a second season.

Reacher is based on the ungodly long book series by Lee Child. Amazon didn't just adapt the books, though – as there is more than enough source material to choose from, the streaming service opted to mainly get through the first book (Killing Floor ) and throw in some plots from other Reacher books as well. Good choice, to be honest, as fans got to meet Neagley way earlier than in the books.

Anyway – before I get way too deep into the books, here are the hard facts about Reacher season 2.

Reacher Season 2 | Release In December 2023

Let's get into it by taking a look at the trailer together, shall we?

In a brand-new trailer, they confirmed that Reacher season 2 releases on December 15, 2023. Still, rumors have it that Christmas in the form of Jack Reacher might come early this year.

Is Reacher Going To Release Early?

For some, this is going to be a classic case of "To-may-to, To-mah-to", but if you don't know what to do with yourself until Jack Reacher is back on your screen of choice, there may be good news for you. Old reliable Alan Ritchson Updates on Twitter (thank you for your service!) shared a screenshot that showed that Reacher would come to Prime a day early on December 14.

If that's a typo or an EarlyChristmas (see what I did there? Because we're EarlyGame? Alright, I'll see myself out) present remains to be seen, but it might be worth to keep a look out on December 14, 7 pm ET. All the official info still says December 15, though, so try to keep your hopes at bay if you're a super-fan!

Reacher Season 2 | Lead Actor Leaks The Plot

We're digging deep now! Back in the day, when X was still Twitter (it will be forever in my book, just to make that clear), lead actor Alan Ritchson may have shared a bit too much.

In a since deleted post, he posed with the eleventh book from the series Bad Luck and Trouble (which could also be the title of my autobiography, but I digress). As Ritchson took down the post, you'll just have to take my word for it. Still, Prime Video's response is still there for everyone who doesn't believe me:

In preparation for the role of Jack Reacher, Alan Ritchson didn't only put on 30 pounds of muscle mass to fit the part, he also read all of the books by Lee Child. So he could've grabbed any Reacher book that was nearest to him to pose for the season 2 announcement, right? Yeah, fat chance. That's why he deleted it.

And that tracks – in Bad Luck and Trouble, Neagley is one of Reacher's main concerns. As she's already introduced in the show, it just makes sense to feature her more heavily in the upcoming season. Without getting into too much detail, just make sure you're in the mood for a suspenseful season in December!

Obviously, Alan Ritchson will reprise his role as Jack Reacher and Maria Sten will return as Frances Neagley. No spoilers, but a few new faces are joining the cast for season 2. Serina Swan and Shaun Sipos will take on the parts of Karla Dixon and David O'Donnell, some former colleagues of Reacher.

In addition to that, Ty Victor will make his Reacher debut as Saropian – if you know, you know. I won't spoil anything for those who didn't read nearly 30 books, don't worry!

As soon as there's more news on Reacher's second season, you can be sure we'll update you on that. For now, there's nothing left to do but wait for December to come.

Shows Like Reacher

If you're a little impatient and want to kill some time before the release of Reacher season 2, we got some recommendations you should definitely check out!

The Night Agent

The Night Agent on Netflix is a suspenseful conspiracy thriller centered around the low-level FBI agent, Peter Sutherland, working in the White House basement as some kind of emergency hotline for agents. Unexpectedly, he answers an emergency phone call by Rose Larkin, a young cybersecurity entrepreneur and the niece of two Night Action agents, launching him into a dangerous conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of power.

If you enjoyed unraveling the mysteries of Reacher season 1 you might be interested in this action series that intertwining political intrigue and power struggles within the White House with action-packed drama and great characters.

Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan

Just like Reacher, this next recommendation is also based on a popular book series by Tom Clancy. The series follows Jack Ryan, a CIA analyst turned field operative, as he uncovers and tackles global threats, including terrorism and espionage. Although this Jack is not quite as badass as Reacher, he's not to be underestimated!

It's unlikely that we'll get a deep exploration of Reacher's past as a military police officer, but Jack Ryan might just be as close a depiction of that as we can get. So if you want to dive into the world of espionage, action, and geopolitical intrigue jack Ryan might just be the series for you!
