HBO has renewed Somebody Somewhere for a third season, gifting the fans another round after a practically perfect finale of the second season. We've got all the info you could possibly need about the upcoming season 3, including the expected release date, returning cast and everything else there is to know!
Thanks God: in a kind of surprising twist of things, Somebody Somewhere has been renewed for a third season. By HBO standards, it's a rather small show (in comparison to shows like House of the Dragon) and, to be quite honest for a second, it's criminally underrated. The small, but dedicated fanbase has been ecstatic when the news hit: there's more to come!
Somebody Somewhere follows Sam going through a midlife crisis after her sister died. Sounds like a bummer at first, but the charming little show doesn't only offer tearjerker moments, but also absolutely hilarious situations – get ready to go from laughing hysterically to sobbing uncontrollably, thanks to brillant writing and an equally amazing cast.
Even though the show doesn't get the recognition it deserves, HBO still goes another round. We've gathered all the info about that for you!
Somebody Somewhere Season 3 | Expected Release Date
HBO hasn't announced an official release date just yet, but we're pretty confident Somebody Somewhere's third season will come out in 2024. If we're lucky, it might even be a summer release.
Depending on how much the Hollywood strikes in 2023 delayed production, we might be looking at a winter release, though. Keep in mind: as long as HBO doesn't give us an official date, we're just speculating. Speculating, and calculating!
In the past, Somebody Somewhere production process took a little over a year per season. If they keep that pace, the third season should hit by August 2024. Considering the strikes, that could be a little too optimistic, though. Winter 2024 seems more realistic.
Somebody Somewhere's Returning Cast For Season 3
Somebody Somewhere lives with its amazing cast, Bridget Everett leading the bunch as Sam, who's often down on her luck. Always by her side is Joel, played by Jeff Hiller. Mary Catherine Garrison also returns as Sam's sister Tricia.
And what would Somebody Somewhere be without Fred, wonderfully portrayed by Murray Hill? Well, maybe it wouldn't make me cry as much (the scene where Sam's dad shares the details of his wife's drinking problem? Yeah, catch me crying my eyes out, alright). Speaking of Sam's mother: Jane Drake Brody returns as MJ, too.
You get the gist – the cast isn't as huge as in some other HBO shows, but there's no reason why they shouldn't all come back for the third season. Thank God!
When exactly that'll be, though, remains to be seen. We'll keep you updated, though!
