Twisted Metal, the Peacock adaptation of the long-running video game franchise, has now officially been renewed for season 2, after the surprising success of the show's first installment at Peacock. So far, there is not a whole lot we know about the continuation of the series, but The Game Awards provided us with some new, exciting information.

Before the show released, fans of the franchise and good entertainment were skeptical to say the least. The first trailer just looked kinda goofy and like the showrunners didn't understand what could make the series good. Glad to say that this was proven worng. Sure, the show isn't by any means exceptional, but it sure as hell is fun!

Twisted Metal Season 2 Will Happen!

During this year's Game Awards, Twisted Metal was nominated for Best Adaptation and although it didn't win, Anthony Mackie used his chance in the spotlight to announce that the show had been greenlit for another season on Peacock!

This comes as no surprise, as the series turned out as the platform's most-watched comedy premiere.

Peacock later dropped a short announcement trailer, letting Sweet Tooth break the news to us as well.

Season 1 set the stage for a new inter-city tournament of drivers, with Mackie’s Character John Doe being forced to participate for San Francisco. We're obviously expecting the return of Sweet Tooth as well to provide us with a whole bunch of carnage in the upcoming second season!

Overall, 2023 has been a great year for video game adaptations, with shows like The Last of Us, and we're happy that Twisted Metal was among them and will return for some more chaotic fun.
