The announcement of a The Legend of Zelda live action movie already has some fans worried, because there is one problem the adaptation will have to solve!
After the success of the Super Mario Movie, many people were beginning to hope for an extended Nintendo cinematic universe, bringing some of their favorite franchises to the big screen.
One of the most requested ones was a The Legend of Zelda movie, although they probably didn't expect it to happen as a live action movie. That being the case now, there is one major problem with this, that already has many fans worried, that being Link's voice!
The Zelda Live-Action Movie Has Fans Worried Over Link’s Voice
Casting for Link himself is hard enough, and no, we don't want to see Tom Holland as Link!
Things only get more difficult, though, when you take into account that writing Link's dialogue becomes especially challenging, as he has absolutely no voice lines in the games! They kind of have to make him talk!
Throughout the expansive Zelda franchise , the protagonist of the games, Link, hasn't really talked all that much, barring that one occasion in Wind Waker where he yells “Come on!” when leading the statues to their places (Yep, that happened).
With that being the case, fans are worried as to how the producers of the live action movie plan to deal with that one tiny detail, that has been a part of the franchise ever since its beginning.
If you're as concerned as we are, maybe it will help that Nintendo will be heavily involved in the production of the movie. The film will be produced by Nintendo and Arad Productions Inc., and directed by Wes Ball.
Shigeru Miyamoto himself will apparently take the lead in this project and this should reassure fans, that Nintendo (hopefully) won't disrespect their own IP.
Still, the question remains, how do they plan to deal with Link? It seems likely that he will get the Mario treatment and have normal dialogue, but as to how satisfactory that will be is still quite concerning for fans.
