Team SoloMid have claimed the champion’s title at the FaZe Clan Valorant Invitational over the weekend. This is the team’s sixth victory in a Valorant event.
The FaZe Clan Valorant Invitational started last Thursday, August 6 and came to an end yesterday, August 9. The tournament gathered some of the best Valorant teams in the North American region. In fact, most of the participants were organizations you know by heart – TSM, T1, Cloud9, Sentinels, and more. The 16 teams were split into four groups of four and only the top eight made it into the playoffs.
- Sentinels
- FaZe Clan
- Team Envy
- Cloud9

- T1
- Immortals

TSM and Sentinels eventually made it to the Upper Bracket finals where SoloMid came out victorious and earned their spot in the grand finals. Sentinels had to defeat Immortals in the Lower Bracket and they managed to do it with an easy 2:0. This gave Sentinels a chance to set things right with TSM. In the grand finals, the two teams traded games back and forth, but in the end, TSM came out as victors. The North American powerhouse lost to Sentinels in two previous events but it seems like the third time was the charm.
TSM are already one of the most respected teams in Riot’s League of Legends and they’re sure making a name for themselves in Valorant. The organization earned $25,000 for their first place and we can’t wait to see them once again in action.
The hosts of the event, FaZe Clan managed to make it through the groups but couldn’t get any further in the playoffs. First they were knocked down to the lower bracket by Sentinels and then eliminated by Cloud9. The team made some recent changes to their roster with the now-former captain Jason "jasonR" Ruchelski leaving the organization. A few days later FaZe signed another player, but they’re still officially missing a fifth. For now, it appears that Shane "Rawkus" Flaherty might be the choice. He was the final piece in the recent event, but the team just didn’t have what it takes to beat the competition.
We couldn't have been prouder to see this weekend's #FaZeInvitational unfold. To those who played, those who watched, who watch-partied, @NissanUSA & @Verizon for putting on the show, @PlayVALORANT for laying the foundation, & @TSM for the incredible performance..THANK YOU! pic.twitter.com/0R38dXouu5

The only bad thing about the event was actually caused by Riot themselves. After the release of Act II, Valorant players encountered quite a lot of bugs and glitches that were fixed in the days to follow. Despite that, Riot decided to limit the new agent Killjoy and straight out remove her from competitive tournaments. Worry not as we’ll see her sooner or later and finally decide whether she’s OP or not.
