It’s all rumors for now but Ubisoft are allegedly planning to join the Battle Royale frenzy with a title of their own. Hyper Scape is the supposed name of the new Battle Royale and as you might have guessed by the title, it’s going to be set in a sci-fi type of environment.
One could claim that Ubisoft are a bit late to the party, but hey, it wouldn’t be the first time. It’s not like Battle Royales are losing fame by the day, as the popularity of Call of Duty: Warzone (released this year) shows, so the French publishers might be on to something.
Hyper Scape: rumors of a Ubisoft Battle Royale
According to Rod “Slasher” Breslau Ubisoft plan on teasing us with a title code-named Prisma Dimensions, which is actually going to become the aforementioned Hyper Scape – a free-to-play battle Royale developed by Ubisoft Montreal.

Gameplay details go this far as of now: a Battle Royale-style shooter set in a futuristic virtual world called Neo Arcadia that is apparently related to the Prisma Dimensions website - a fictional software company recently published by Ubisoft.
Hyper Scape is said to offer deep Twitch integration and allow viewers of a stream to directly influence the gameplay, which would be interesting to see. According to the Prisma Dimensions website, concrete details about the game are to be released on July 2.

If you think this is a long process in the making, you’re wrong. The PC game launch is allegedly coming as soon as July 12, while console players will have to wait till a bit further in the year. The release date fits with the Ubisoft Forward event, so it seems like there’s quite a lot of meat to this story.
