Right after the EGO skins by OneTap, Riot Games have revealed the next series in line with the GUN bundle. The skin collection is heavily inspired by the 1950-60s.
Valorant has been dropping skins on a regular basis and we’re wondering if they’re ever going to run out of great ideas. The latest skins are called GUN, which stands for Gravitational Uranium Neuroblaster. By the looks of it, the bundle is inspired by the 1950-60s, space exploration, and science-fiction. The new skins are exactly how the media viewed future/alien technology. We’re definitely getting some Fallout vibes from all this since the title was also retro-futuristic in its own way.
When it comes time to name an item, we want to make sure it respects the genre and fantasy it came from. In this case it is inspired by the sci-fi (science fiction) of the 50-60s, so we take an approach in which things sound more complex than they really are. Also, we play with the acronym, at least in English, that remains when selecting the initials of Gravitational Uranium Neuroblaster results in GUN.
The bundle will also add special visual and sound effects to further strengthen the immersion. Initially, the team didn’t have enough time and planned to cut them but thankfully the release got delayed and we’re getting the full package.
Valorant GUN Bundle: Release Date and Price
The official price for the bundle hasn’t been revealed yet but there’s a high chance individual items from it will cost 1775 VP. This will put the bundle in the premium tier which was also where the EGO series stood. If that’s true the whole bundle will cost 7,100 VP. Skin prices are something that often sparks a heated discussion in the Valorant community, especially when they’re quite high (Elderflame). We don’t think that’ll be the case with the GUN collection, let's hope we're right.
When it comes to the release date, we can say with certainty it’ll be September 30, exactly the end of the month.
Valorant GUN: The Bundle
The whole collection will include skins for Classic Pistol, Bucky, Operator, Spectre, Melee, and a special gun buddy (available only when you get the whole GUN bundle).
A Hint of Something Else?
The GUN skin bundle might be adding new animations to the game and the visuals are unlike anything else we’ve seen so far. The weapons are quite different, but you can still figure out which one’s which so don’t worry. Could that be a hint of a new agent revolving more around science or maybe a brand-new map with a retro theme? As usual, only time will tell.
