After the successful Valorant Beta, the new shooter hit from Riot Games started yesterday. However, the Valorant release was overshadowed by some server problems and didn't go as smoothly as the people in charge wanted. Now Riot has announced a new Valorant feature with the "give up" option.

The wait is over: Valorant has started! Yesterday, June 2nd, the tactical shooter launched its final version after months of successful closed beta testing. What we learned in the Valorant Beta and what the Valorant Battle Pass contains, we have already revealed. Now Riot Games has announced a new feature for the shooter that fans have been asking for.

Valorant Surrender Feature: Giving up is an option

You know how it is: in the middle of the round, your teammates simply go AFK or the line up is so bad taking rounds is a distant dream. This is where the Valorant surrender feature comes into play, which lets you end the game immediately without having to spend an unnecessarily long time on the server without a chance.

Joe Ziegler and Anna Donlon of Riot Games revealed that the Valorant surrender feature did not make it into the game for the launch, but will be added soon.

The development duo also talked about other options for making the gaming experience in Valorant more fun:

There are two issues I would like to address. We've introduced much tougher AFK penalties, but we wanted to make sure that a team in this situation can decide for themselves whether or not they want to play the rest of the round.

Sounds a lot like the League of Legends surrender system, where after a certain amount of in-game time, the team can vote to surrender. It's not clear when the Valorant Surrender feature will make it into the game, though. The implementation is planned to take place shortly after the Valorant release, probably with the next update.

In our Valorant FAQ we will clarify all the important questions about the new tactical shooter, while beta veterans and beginners will familiarize themselves with the Spectre at the beginning of our Valorant weapon guide series.
