The T1 Valorant roster just shrank by two as the team released Austin "crashies" Roberts and Victor "food" Wong. The squad is now down to two, what’s next?
T1 was one of the teams many hoped would dominate the Valorant North American scene. After all, they were the first organization to sign a pro player for their Valorant squad back in early March. Ever since then the team acquired multiple other pro players with a CS:GO background. If we’ve learned something so far it’s that CS:GO players are doing really well in Valorant. Proof of that are G2 and their undefeated streak in Europe.
So why are things not working out for T1? Well, according to T1, there are some roster changes needed as Austin “crashies” Roberts and Victor “food” Wong were left behind.
Today we say goodbye to @food_cs and @Crashies.We're thankful for all the work they put into the team and wish them the best for the future. pic.twitter.com/gHX5CORJDi

The two players retired from CS:GO in April and May respectively and started their Valorant career in T1 in the same months. Now their run with the South Korean organization comes to an end. The straw that broke the camels back was perhaps the Valorant Pop Flash tournament. There the team was eliminated in the group stage after losing to both Immortals and Team Envy.
T1’s star player Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham was benched on August 24 in order to expand his agent pool as he was mostly known for his Sage. Wouldn’t you know it, Sage was nerfed really hard by the latest Valorant patch.

I have been grinding to expand my agent pool and overall impact with the OP and will be back with T1 when the time is right, but in the meantime am going to be practicing with other teams to stay sharp. I'll be back soon and better than ever

Ska mentioned he’ll be back soon and now might be his time to shine. There’s also a rumor going on the former roster of the CS:GO iBuyPower could reform in T1. Currently, it’s just Skadoodle, Braxton "brax" Pierce and Keven "AZK" Larivière, but it was recently revealed that Joshua "steel" Nissan will also be pursuing a career in Riot’s tactical shooter.
Even at the best of times change is constant. Coming off of our recent success, @JoshNissan will be transitioning to streaming full-time as a content creator focused on Valorant.https://t.co/conBgUWL4d pic.twitter.com/FqSzIQ6JM3

Just now stated by a Valorant ProSteel potential offers from both T1 and 100 ThievesThis week is gunna be fun lads

If the theory is correct that’d leave only one remaining player and Sam "DaZeD" Marine is a likely candidate as he already tried to build a team a couple of months back.
With crashies and food out on the market as free agents, we have no doubt they’ll soon be picked by one of T1’s rivals. The only other big organization that’s looking for Valorant players is 100 Thieves. They dropped four players in the middle of August leaving only Spencer “Hiko” Martin and on the same day signed Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella. The two players are also coming from CS:GO, so crashies and food might be the perfect fit for the 100 Thieves line up.
