Stage 3 of the Valorant Champions Tour is back and the Challengers 2 main event is currently underway. The bracket in Europe started yesterday, and we already saw some interesting events as both Team Vitality and Alliance got eliminated. Here are all the details.
The Valorant Champions has returned and the second Challengers event in Stage 3 is quite important. The teams that manage to survive to the end will earn a spot for the Challengers Playoffs. The latter will make it clear who gets a ticket to the Stage 3 Masters Berlin and who doesn't. Right now, things are looking grim for Team Vitality and Alliance.
Team Vitality and Alliance Eliminated in Europe Stage 3 Challengers 2
Team Vitality and Alliance are one of the biggest esports organizations in Europe, and it made total sense to count them towards the favorites for Challengers 2. Unfortunately, they had to face the top two European teams from Reykjavik in round one.
Team Vitality went up against Team Liquid and even won the first map, but Liquid followed with a reverse sweep. This sent Vitality to the lower bracket, where Team BDS 2:0'd them. The team failed to deliver results yet again in Stage 3, and it'll be no surprise if we see some serious roster changes in the aftermath.
Something similar happened with Alliance. Fnatic made quick work of the Swedish team and instantly sent them to the lower bracket. There, Alliance had to face Rix.GG Thunder and the latter managed to repeat Fnatic's feat. With two swift losses, all the work in the closed qualifier was undone.
The worst part for Vitality and Alliance is that there's no follow-up event after Stage 3 Challengers 2 for them. We won't be seeing them at the Stage 3 Masters Berlin or Valorant Champions in December. Both teams are lacking the necessary circuit points to qualify for the Last Chance Qualifier in October. Are the two orgs about to restart their rosters?
